We are always looking at way to improve our website and taking note of some of your comments over the past few months we have developed a new dive site map system. We have only made 1 map so far for our most popular diving itinerary , the Wrecks and Reefs of Egypt.
Please take a look and let us know what you think. The interactive map is built using Google maps and allows you to obtain much more information about each dive site or area that is visited on the iconic Wrecks and Reefs itinerary. We will be adding more content to the maps as they develop and will be producing a map for each diving holiday itinerary that we offer.
From the wrecks of Abu Nuhas to Ras Mohammed national park, there is information including dive depths, experience levels , pictures and more inside the map. Please have a click around and let us know what you would like to see more of by leaving a comment on this post.
The Wrecks and Reefs itinerary is operated by some of our most luxurious Red Sea Liveaboards including Whirlwind, Typhoon, and Cyclone. For more information about these boats or how to book your next diving adventure, please contact us or call the diving holiday experts on 0800 072 8221.
Let the experts guide you through some of our most beloved wreck dives

Your own private wreck! Mike Ward and Oxygene Newfoundland dive in exclusive small groups
Wreck diving is quite a thrill – descending down onto a wreck as it looms out from the depths will inevitably send a shiver down your spine. But what about the stories that lie behind each and every wreck. What brought them there? And how did they impact the lives of those that sailed on her? These are just some of the questions that Marine Archelogists seek to answer.
This week Janette Ginns will be speaking at Oxygene Newfoundland. The Bell Island wrecks are only 4 of the many wrecks that lie around Newfoundland’s shores but have huge importance. Sunk by German Uboats during the Second World War, these magnificent wrecks lie upright to be dived by only Oxygene Newfoundland. They are in stunning condition (portholes, rigging, masts – you name it) and incredible dives yet the stories and lives that go alongside the wrecks are as equally enthralling.
Janette has over 20 years research in this field so it is sure to be a fascinating meeting. Moveover, our very own wreck buff Mike Ward is taking a group to Oxygene Newfoundland in May. He will be taking an in depth look above and below the water at the Battle of the Atlantic and Newfoundland’s crucial strategic role. This is the ultimate wreck diving adventure and a must do in 2010 for anyone serious about wreck diving. With Mike to hand as well as the ever dedicated Oxygene Newfoundland team, this is week of awesome diving and fascinating history.

Sunday Times writer Jon Holmes took the plunge on Typhoon
Have you ever wondered about learning to dive? You can complete your PADI Open Water referral on an Egyptian liveaboard for an incredible experience that stands head above the rest. Taking the PADI referral option, Jon completed his pool and theory sessions here in the UK before jetting off to Egypt to complete the final 4 open water dives. With his trusty instructors, it was then only a couple of days to becoming a full certified PADI Open Water diver and the world was his oyster… Well, the Northern Red Sea on this trip.
The Northern Red Sea is full of breath taking marine life and wrecks that are easily accesible within the 18m limit for Open Water Divers. As a newly qualified diver Jon was able to enjoy the rest of the trip along with his fellow divers. From the decks of Typhoon he gained valuable experience under the watchful eyes of the dive guides. It is safe to say he has been well and truly bitten by the diving bug. It was a life changing moment and real achievement. Congrats Jon!
