Location: Malta, officially the Republic of Malta is a southern European country and consists of an archipelago situated centrally in the Mediterranean, 93 km south of Sicily and 288 km north-east of Tunisia, with Gibraltar 1,826 km to the west and Alexandria 1,510 km to the east. Malta is just over 300 km² making it one of Europe's smallest and one of Europe's most densely populated countries.
Languages: The two official languages are Maltese and English.
Religion: 98% of the population is Catholic (85% being practicing Catholics).
Time: GMT - 2 (GMT - 3 from the last Friday in April to last Thursday in September)
Weather & Water Temperature: Warm most of the year, air temperature ranging from 15°C in January to 30°C in August. The hottest months are between July and September, but the heat is tempered by cooling sea breezes. Rain falls for very short periods, mainly in the cooler winter months. Water temperatures range from 16°C to 26°C in September. Please choose your exposure suit accordingly or contact us for advice for your holiday.
Electricity: 220 V. The electrical plugs are of British type (three-pin plugs).
Currency: The currency in Malaysia is the Euro.
Tipping: Service is generally included in the bill, and is about 10% of the bill, but you can also leave a tip if you wish to.

Food & Drink: The biggest form of health problems with divers and tourists alike is being dehydrated. Please drink plenty of water before and after a dive as well as throughout the day. We also advise that you don’t drink the local water and only drink bottle water and wash all fruit beforehand.

Health & Vaccinations: Requirements vary from country to country, your own GP is the best person to speak to regarding relevant requirements. Make your GP aware that you will be scuba diving, as some medication is not recommended for Scuba divers.
Clothing: Lightweight cottons and linens are worn between March and September, although warmer clothes may occasionally be necessary in spring and autumn and on cooler evenings. A light raincoat is advisable for winter.
Passports: Passports much be valid for at least 6 months on your return to the UK.
