Back Up is a charity working with those suffering from spinal cord injuries. Established in 1986 by the former skiing freestyle champion Mike Nemesvary, Back Up originally focused on skiing courses specifically for those affected by spinal cord injury. Today however, their work covers all aspects of life, from mentoring, sharing wheelchair skills and organising a huge range of activities for everyone of all ages.
”We understand that a spinal cord injury can be devastating, but we believe that it should not prevent anyone from getting the most out of life. “ A part of this is the annual diving trip out to Egypt where a number of trainees and volunteers get their warm water dive fix and many learn to dive for the first time.
Over several years Scuba Travel have built up a close relationship with Back Up. Our aim to is ensure everyone has the most perfect holiday, irrespective of their spinal cord injury. As each individual can vary enormously in their needs, our personal approach mirrors the highly individualised approach of Back Up.
