Duxy is a familiar face for many Scuba Travel customers, as our Photography Travel Specialist Duxy is a regular fixture on our dive holidays with a friendly smile and ready to share his passion for underwater photography. He's on hand for one to one tuition, to sort out camera rental hire and give you a chance to try out kit underwater before you buy. His popular photo trips are suitable for all levels and when you join there will be chances to explore all aspects of photography, and not just underwater!
Like so many of the Scuba Travel team, Duxy started his love affair with diving as a dive guide and videographer. Having worked for five years in Sharm el Sheikh, Duxy returned to the UK and has worked for both Cameras Underwater and Ocean Leisure Cameras. From here he started to really make his mark on the world of underwater photography, writing a popular column in DIVE and Sport Diver magazines, helping divers who were just starting to get to grips with underwater photography. Today Duxy is well known for his honest and fuss free advice to help divers get the most out of their kit. He presents ever popular and often lively talks at both the London and Birmingham Dive Shows and many UK dive clubs have enjoyed Duxy's club night presentations. And for the past 3 years Duxy has brought his travels full circle, hosting photography workshops back in the Red Sea but also in diverse locations such as the Maldives and Indonesia.
As Scuba Travel's Photo Travel Specialist Duxy will be not only be found on board our award winning holidays or escorting specialist photography trips throughout the year. He will also be at your disposal from the very beginning of your enquiry right the way through to the editing suite back home. Start your journey with his unbiased and experience led advice on all the latest underwater photography kit, and how best to use it, right through to post processing (photo editing is a particular speciality of his)... he can even offer guidance on what sort of dive gear to buy to minimise your baggage requirements.
