Cyclone has long been a favourite with UK divers for exporing the magnificent wrecks and lavish reefs of the Egyptian Red Sea. Winning "Liveaboard of the Year" in 2003, Cyclone has undergone several upgrades over the years, keeping her up to the same exceptional standards as the rest of the fleet. Designed by divers and expertly crewed, Cyclone retains a welcoming atmosphere and it this that draws divers back to her year after year for their hard earned Red Sea holiday.

Cyclone is 32m from bow to stern and her sturdy wood hull is a stable home away from home. 20 divers can be easily accommodated over 10 twin cabins. For your complete comfort, all of the cabins are en suite, have individual air con and plenty of space to stow your belongings for the week. There are 2 twin cabins on the main deck, 6 twin cabins below decks and 2 bow cabins which have bunks. All cabins are pre-allocated at the time of booking.

Cyclone features the tried and tested lay out of all Tornado Marine Fleet vessels. The all important dive deck is spaciously laid out so everyone can kit up without fighting for space. Head to the main deck dining room at meal times and an outstanding feast awaits. The upstairs saloon is complete with bar and plasma screen is a focal point at the end of the day or during surface intervals. Or escape from it all on extensive sun deck, complete with sun beds and jacuzzi. Cyclone is a true Red Sea classic liveaboard that easily meets the high standards of Scuba Travel's modern Red Sea liveaboards.

The boat was great, a very well laid out dive deck, clean cabins with as much space as can be expected, no shortage of areas in and out of the sun to read/sleep/relax between dives, a very sociable dining area, tea and coffee making facilities and a massive TV and sound system. Everything was in great condition and very clean and tidy. Tessa

For me the highlight of the trip has been all three of the Thistlegorm dives. Having the chance to explore such an historic and well preserved wreck really was amazing and by far one of the best diving experiences i have ever had. Ryan

Probably the best part of this trip for William and I have been the crew and guides. They have really taken William under their wing to the extent that he has all his meals with them. Which are delicious, by the way? The diving is pretty good too. Joe & William

Get out here guys, it's phenomenal – Egypt has a problem, sadly, but it is all concentrated 300 miles away, not around Sharm so don't be put off – and Jacques Cousteau always said the Red Sea was the best dive site in the world and he should know, having dived pretty much everywhere – he was right in my view. And Scubatravel's Cyclone is the standard all other liveaboards have to measure up to. Jane

Dive guides are brilliant. Knowledgeable, attentive. If you're a beginner they will look after you and make sure you dive safely. Cyclone crew are excellent, friendly and look after you. Well done Scuba travel. Dean

My wife and I spent a week on the Cyclone diving the Best of Reefs and Wrecks Itinerary. We have spent a great deal of time on liveaboard dive boats and I have to say this one ranks as one of the best LOB experiences we have ever had. Everything was spot on and I can't think of a single problem during out entire trip...perhaps the water temperature could have been warmer, but I understand this might be beyond the crew's sphere of influence :) Regardless, we had an excellent time and you can bet we will be back. I think the next time we will give the southern itinerary a go. Great trip, great crew, and great people to dive with. Thanks very much! Dean Kokonas

Their professional dedication is unquestionable. All the guys are the friendliest people I've met, are great fun, and bend over backwards to help when something is asked of them, no complaints or dis-gruntled looks, just tonnes of effort and. That applies to all. With respect to the guides, they're just great. Their knowledge of the reefs, the flora, fauna, and the wrecks and their history is spot on for their target audience, delivered in the right way and gives us what we need to enjoy the dive in context. Thanks to everyone, for all their help and support. Paul M

The captain was friendly and always around available to speak with. You could not ask for a better crew, each and every one of them. Very interactive and friendly crew. Jeff

Very comfortable, very friendly and welcoming not too big just the right size. Food was nice. Great boat for my wife's first liveaboard, she found the diving so easy off this boat. Paul Woodburn

The crew are exceptional; they are kind and attentive to every detail. Nothing has been too much trouble and we have nothing to complain about. The boat has also been a truly fabulous experience and we have loved every minute aboard. It has been kept impeccably clean, tidy and safe. Ruth & Andy Maher

When you see the briefing for the Barge you first think its plain and not the best. But have no fear this is one both in the day and night that will leave you speechless….. Stone Fish, Huge scorpion fish, octopus, bat fish, wrasse, anemone, huge Moray. My favourite reef dive of the trip Ally Smith

28 October 2013

The guides and crew are excellent. They made us feel very welcome and have always been helpful in any way possible. Guiding has been offered on every dive, which can be useful if you are not familiar with the dive sites. Adel's jokes are particularly funny and he has a very dry sense of humour! Andrew Whitworth

We found the briefs to be very informative and backed up well with photos and plans of what we were about to dive. The guides and the crew were extremely friendly and could not have done enough to help us. The crew members were very personable and the catering staff were really attentive we were really impressed with the service of the crew and the guides making it a thoroughly enjoyable trip. Gary & Sarah Lanes

Pam and I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for the trip last week on Cyclone. All went well and we thought the boat, crew and guides all worked well together. The food was excellent, Air fills exceptional (220 bar was the average and we even got 250 bar for a dive with a really long swim back). Diving was great and fully met the itinerary of the Northern Wrecks and Reefs. We were even surprised to find good service from Monarch and early touch down coming back (our previous experience of that airline was delays and tight seating). In particular the main dive guide Adel should be brought to your attention. He was always fun, hard working, gave excellent briefings and tried to help wherever possible for new divers and experienced alike – whilst also having a go a boat handling and “front of house” in the dining lounge! We happened to meet Georgina in Sharm (on her holiday) which added a personal touch Pam and Tom

12 August 2013

Great trip – many thanks to everyone – the dive guides kept us under respectful control and gave a lot of useful information about the dive sites allowing us appropriate freedom. The zodiac and deck crews were very good and worked very hard especially considering it was Ramadan; the chef was particularly good preparing a good range of tasty food and the guys who looked after the cabins and the galley did a great job. Many thanks again to the captain, his crew and the dive guides for a great week. Brian & Yolanda Clargo

The two Guides Khalid and Ahmed, you couldn’t ask for better, in a few words they are extremely dedicated & professional to their guests, nothing was too much trouble and they had a great sense of humour, well done. Paul Hargreaves

Tornado should be proud of having 2 dedicated and professional guides that work relentlessly to provide, site information, humour and generally caring about the individual. Mac
