Hurricane stands out in the Egyptian Red Sea - and not just because she is one of the few steel hulled vessels. Many Red Sea liveaboards are compared to Hurricane, but few are as enduringly popular. She has won the prestigious "Liveaboard of the Year" award no less than 3 times and in 2013 she has had a complete refit, including new air conditioning throughout, new plumbing and new teak decks. Fans of Hurricane often cite the superb diver comfort, thoughtful layout and highly experienced crew as the reasons they keep coming back year after year.

At 36m there is bags of space on board Hurricane. No detail was over looked when she was built and she is continually renovated to maintain the highest standards. There are 11 cabins in total spilt over the main and lower deck. The 4 main deck cabins are a mix of twin or double beds (with a bunk above). The lower deck cabins are all twins apart from the bow cabins, which have a double bed and bunk above. Cabins are allocated at the time of booking so do ask your travel consultant if you have a specific request. All have individual air con, en suite bathrooms, a fridge and safe box.

You will instantly recognise what has become the Tornado Marine Fleet signature design. The dining and saloon areas are divided to provide optimum comfort at all stages of the trip. Upstairs opens up into the AC saloon with the bar, flat screen and seating area. Outside there is a seated deck (ideal for your post dive tales), the upper sun deck and loungers and jacuzzi. Down on the dive deck extras include an air gun for cameras, high pressure gas bending facilities (including trimix), nitrox compressor and gear storage. The steel hull and low dive platform make Hurricane a stable ride in even the bumpiest of weather and entry and exits are easy. Hurricane has it all - and it is easy to see just why divers fall in love with her.

18 August 2014

We have recently returned (30th July) from a week on Hurricane in the Red Sea. Mantas, Hammerheads and other sharks, baby turtles, spanish dancers and a dugong! Plus the most spectacular underwater scenery and 'caves' I've ever seen anywhere. D's route through the caves showed them at their very best. The itinerary was well organised by two extremely competent dive guides who had an excellent knowledge of the dive sites. They were both enthusiastic. D was very friendly and socialised well with all the guests at all times. The quality of the maps and pictures for the dive sites was very good and the briefings clear with alternatives given for potential current changes. Yasser's 'plan A and plan B' became a daily highlight! The food was the best we've had on a Red Sea liveaboard (this is our 8th in Egypt). Good choice with plenty of fruit and vegetables. No queasy stomach this time. Mark & Lynne Grey

14 August 2014

Brilliant food! Chef is the unsung hero. Made a cake and carved a melon into the shape of a dolphin!!! Chris & Helen

14 August 2014

Great crew, very friendly and welcoming and up for a laugh. D in particular was a great guide especially as we were on final stage of open water course and were referred to complete on board. D challenged us but was also aware of our limits so really felt in control and comfortable with what we were doing. Really enjoyed all the dives, especially seeing the turtles and snorkelling with dolphins!! Dan & Scott

01 August 2014

We have just returned from an excellent week’s diving, this time aboard Hurricane on the Daedalus, Rocky, St John’s and Elphinstone itinerary. By any standards, this was an exceptional week’s schedule with all dives providing a wide range of underwater spectacles with Hammerheads and Mantas making regular appearances throughout the week. Hurricane’s crew were first rate and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb and all aspects of the service aboard Hurricane was excellent. Frazer & Annette

06 June 2014

Both crew and guides have been fantastic. It is great to see such a cohesive team in operation and such a high level of seamanship displayed. D & Yasser fantastic guides who have really listened to what people have wanted from their dives and not only worked to make this happen but gone a step further going above & beyond. Mel

The crew were very attentive and interactive to the correct level and nothing was too much trouble. I really can't praise them highly enough and how well they worked as a team. I wish I could name them all. To name a few Yasser, D, Tammy for the dive side and maintaining passion for the sport. Hamada and Reda on board. AID for being very quick with helping with donning the dive Equipment. Steven King
