Hurricane stands out in the Egyptian Red Sea - and not just because she is one of the few steel hulled vessels. Many Red Sea liveaboards are compared to Hurricane, but few are as enduringly popular. She has won the prestigious "Liveaboard of the Year" award no less than 3 times and in 2013 she has had a complete refit, including new air conditioning throughout, new plumbing and new teak decks. Fans of Hurricane often cite the superb diver comfort, thoughtful layout and highly experienced crew as the reasons they keep coming back year after year.

At 36m there is bags of space on board Hurricane. No detail was over looked when she was built and she is continually renovated to maintain the highest standards. There are 11 cabins in total spilt over the main and lower deck. The 4 main deck cabins are a mix of twin or double beds (with a bunk above). The lower deck cabins are all twins apart from the bow cabins, which have a double bed and bunk above. Cabins are allocated at the time of booking so do ask your travel consultant if you have a specific request. All have individual air con, en suite bathrooms, a fridge and safe box.

You will instantly recognise what has become the Tornado Marine Fleet signature design. The dining and saloon areas are divided to provide optimum comfort at all stages of the trip. Upstairs opens up into the AC saloon with the bar, flat screen and seating area. Outside there is a seated deck (ideal for your post dive tales), the upper sun deck and loungers and jacuzzi. Down on the dive deck extras include an air gun for cameras, high pressure gas bending facilities (including trimix), nitrox compressor and gear storage. The steel hull and low dive platform make Hurricane a stable ride in even the bumpiest of weather and entry and exits are easy. Hurricane has it all - and it is easy to see just why divers fall in love with her.

We had a wonderful time aboard Hurricane - you were spot on that the upgrades with the plumbing and AC had worked, my group very happy and we got 20 dives in. Yasser and Dickon make a great team. Crew were also excellent. Food was also very good! This safari has been on my to do list for many years and it didn't disappoint. Lesley Harper

D & Yasser fantastic guides who have really listened to what people have wanted from their dives and not only worked to make this happen but gone a step further going above & beyond. Mel

All the staff on the Hurricane, including the dive team, were excellent. The crew were attentive and extremely helpful, the dive staff were knowledgeable and everyone was friendly. I was absolutely delighted with the service and wouldn' hesitate to recommend this trip to any diver Stephen Gilbert

22 May 2014

The crew were very attentive and interactive to the correct level and nothing was too much trouble. I really can't praise them highly enough and how well they worked as a team. I wish I could name them all. To name a few Yasser, D, Tammy for the dive side and maintaining passion for the sport. Hamada and Reda on board. AID for being very quick with helping with donning the dive Equipment. Steven King

We would just like to confirm how pleased we were with the boat and crew, and express our genuine appreciation of your Dive Guide, Dickon Smith, for turning a very good trip into an absolutely splendid week's diving. Dickon's approach to the many minor problems that are encountered on a dive boat was extremely professional and were always resolved in a speedy and efficient manner. His enthusiasm for the numerous sightings of Manta Rays, Hammerheads, Dolphins, etc etc that we saw was infectious, and it was a rare opportunity to dive with a "seasoned" guide who still expressed such delight in his work. Barrie Arch

14 May 2014

This was our first liveaboard and I think we've been spoilt, the crew and guides have been so helpful and friendly, the briefings before the dives were so thorough and for the first time we have dived unguided .We will definitely come on another one. Thank you all for a very special holiday Annette & Steven Mann

Chrisoula K is one of the best wrecks in the Red Sea from a photographers point of view. Cascading light shining in through the many openings provide many opportunities to capture some great shots. The workshop is a highlight as well as the engine room. Ian
