Hurricane stands out in the Egyptian Red Sea - and not just because she is one of the few steel hulled vessels. Many Red Sea liveaboards are compared to Hurricane, but few are as enduringly popular. She has won the prestigious "Liveaboard of the Year" award no less than 3 times and in 2013 she has had a complete refit, including new air conditioning throughout, new plumbing and new teak decks. Fans of Hurricane often cite the superb diver comfort, thoughtful layout and highly experienced crew as the reasons they keep coming back year after year.

At 36m there is bags of space on board Hurricane. No detail was over looked when she was built and she is continually renovated to maintain the highest standards. There are 11 cabins in total spilt over the main and lower deck. The 4 main deck cabins are a mix of twin or double beds (with a bunk above). The lower deck cabins are all twins apart from the bow cabins, which have a double bed and bunk above. Cabins are allocated at the time of booking so do ask your travel consultant if you have a specific request. All have individual air con, en suite bathrooms, a fridge and safe box.

You will instantly recognise what has become the Tornado Marine Fleet signature design. The dining and saloon areas are divided to provide optimum comfort at all stages of the trip. Upstairs opens up into the AC saloon with the bar, flat screen and seating area. Outside there is a seated deck (ideal for your post dive tales), the upper sun deck and loungers and jacuzzi. Down on the dive deck extras include an air gun for cameras, high pressure gas bending facilities (including trimix), nitrox compressor and gear storage. The steel hull and low dive platform make Hurricane a stable ride in even the bumpiest of weather and entry and exits are easy. Hurricane has it all - and it is easy to see just why divers fall in love with her.

Superb crew, extremely helpful and efficient at all times, very attentive to the needs of the passengers and looking after cameras and gear. Great guides with knowledge of the dive sites. Excellent laugh with both the crew and guides, a real fun boat to be on. Steve

Guides and crew were fab. Crew really knew the sites which makes a massive difference as have been on boats previously where sometimes the guides are not as experienced. The crew were amazing too. Especially on the dive deck crew / sailors – they were so attentive with helping with tanks, wetsuits and the first time the sailors have ever put fins on inside the zodiac for the divers which makes a big difference. They were also happy to hang wetsuits and remove first stage – so helpful. The crew were also so game for a laugh participating in the “Roger & Hayley Dance Extravaganza” Hayley & Chris

Nothing is too much trouble for the crew. They are always there to help you in and out of the water and happily put up with divers with all their extra camera equipment to be looked after. The guides give excellent briefings and assist with all minor medical problems to resolve them quickly Yvonne Tomey

05 May 2015

the crew have been very good, friendly and helpful and good at anticipating problems rather than waiting for things to go wrong. This is the second time we have had D as one of our dive guides and I cannot speak highly enough of his professionalism and seemingly endless supply of patience and good humour. Zoe

Always friendly, smiling and helpful. Good attention to details. Always making sure that the place was as clean as possible. No empty cups anywhere, no food lying around, always a well furnished bad. Did not feel like I was missing anything at any time. Real luxury. All (including the chef and the captain) were very accommodating adapting to our changing program on the fly. Patrick
