Hurricane stands out in the Egyptian Red Sea - and not just because she is one of the few steel hulled vessels. Many Red Sea liveaboards are compared to Hurricane, but few are as enduringly popular. She has won the prestigious "Liveaboard of the Year" award no less than 3 times and in 2013 she has had a complete refit, including new air conditioning throughout, new plumbing and new teak decks. Fans of Hurricane often cite the superb diver comfort, thoughtful layout and highly experienced crew as the reasons they keep coming back year after year.

At 36m there is bags of space on board Hurricane. No detail was over looked when she was built and she is continually renovated to maintain the highest standards. There are 11 cabins in total spilt over the main and lower deck. The 4 main deck cabins are a mix of twin or double beds (with an additional single bed). The lower deck cabins are all twins apart from the bow cabins, which have a double bed and additional single bed. Cabins are allocated at the time of booking so do ask your travel consultant if you have a specific request. All have individual air con, en suite bathrooms, a fridge and safe box.

You will instantly recognise what has become the Tornado Marine Fleet signature design. The dining and saloon areas are divided to provide optimum comfort at all stages of the trip. Upstairs opens up into the AC saloon with the bar, flat screen and seating area. Outside there is a seated deck (ideal for your post dive tales), the upper sun deck and loungers and jacuzzi. Down on the dive deck extras include an air gun for cameras, high pressure gas bending facilities (including trimix), nitrox compressor and gear storage. The steel hull and low dive platform make Hurricane a stable ride in even the bumpiest of weather and entry and exits are easy. Hurricane has it all - and it is easy to see just why divers fall in love with her.

The boat is superbly equipped and the steal hull makes the ride more relaxing when the seas get up. I can't praise the crew and dive guides enough. From superb and informative dive briefings, to the crew helping you in and out of the boat with your kit, to the hot chocolates at the end of your night dives. You will be hard pushed to find better service and support than we received. I look forward to seeing them all again next year Matt Westgate

The best dive guides and crew in the Red Sea, and we have been on many other liveaboards here. Fantastic guides who gave superb briefings and led dives well, plus they were willing to let you do your own dive, conditions and experience permitting. Always felt safe. As for the crew, they are the most helpful and happy crew we have dived with. Thank you!- Peter and Marion

Really great dive guides, thorough briefing prior to each dive, always helpful. Theest of the crew could not have been more helpful in everyway helping in and out of the ribs, looking after us whilst getting our dive gear on. Lovely drinks after each dive and lots of biscuits and tea and coffee on tap.Amazing to be able to provide a feast at each meal time in such a small galley area... They should be on MASTER CHEF Derek and Angie

Best dive at Daedalus Reef. After jumping in we saw 4 hammerheadsstraightaway, which circled us for some time. A manta was also seen near the surface. Then the whole family of hammerheads showed up (around 14) and a manta swam past in the deep. Group stayed well together and all were monitored closely by the guides. To top it all off, another manta showed up at the safety stop! All in all a fantastic dive and one to be remembered Rick and Sam
