Whirlwind has to be one of our favourite Red Sea liveaboards - and as the award winning Liveaboard of the Year 2011 clearly fellow divers share our affection for her. This is 5 star Red Sea diving at affordable prices... just one of the reasons UK divers keep coming back to this superior liveaboard. She has a well deserved reputation for the quality of finish on board, her long standing crew are the definition of attentive and she has all the award winning hallmarks of Tornado Marine fleet (from the decor to the tasty food)! Discover today how effortless diving can be when your liveaboard has been designed by divers for divers.

Whirlwind is a generous 36m from bow to stern and at 8m across, there is ample space for all 20 guests. There are 10 cabins in total, all with twin beds, en suite, air con and safe. The storage is plentiful and the showers are some of the most powerful you will find on a boat! There are 4 cabins on the main deck which are preallocated at the time of booking with no additional surcharge.

Whirlwind has everything the modern diver could want on board. The dive deck is one of the most impressive aspects - no more kitting up in a crowd on this boat! There is a camera table, 2 rinse tanks and plenty of space for all your dive kit. Whirlwind is also rebreather friendly and can pump oxygene and helium mixes (please just let us know at the time of booking). And for your relaxation between dives, there are 2 sundecks and the jacuzzi. Catch some rays, relax with a book or enjoy the hot tub. The saloon is kitted out with a modern entertainment system and a well stocked bar. Quite simply no element of this liveaboard has been overlooked. From sun up to sun down, Whirlwind is the perfect home away from home in the Egyptian Red Sea.

I am not a regular diver and basically just do livaboard trips as a means of getting away, switching off and not being contactable by work. The importance of good dive briefings is therefore really important and Reda did a very thorough job supported by April who really helped on my PADI course after Reda hurt his hand. I have noticed dive briefings are more thorough these days which is a good thing. Tom

Fantastic holiday had a great time on first liveaboard. Reda gives 100% , briefings are informative and entertaining. Dives are well planed, felt safe at all times. George Killgllon

From the moment they helped us on to the vessel to helping us kit up for dives and greeting us with a warm drink after a night dive, the crew have been fantastic. Always willing to help. Dive guides clearly know their stuff; thorough, informative, great briefings, many laughs, flexible and a good knowledge of red sea fish! They also did a great job of managing to get us onto wrecks with nobody else diving them which makes a massive difference. Some of the best, informative and detailed briefings without being tedious or dragging on. The galley and saloon staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and really made us feel at home on the boat. Matt & Hannah

Boat is the best one I have been on and would certainly book it again especially with Reda who is clear and flexible in his approach. Crew and guides work exceedingly hard to make things comfortable and enjoyable for us guests. Nothing is too much trouble. Gordon Clarke

Great sized boat, well equipped. Tons of storage in the cabins, and lots of chill out space on various decks so you could always find a quiet place to relax, if that's what you felt like Brioni

The wrecks and reefs trip was excellent. My 16yr daughter Catrin did her AOW on the trip and was looked after by her instructor Manon brilliantly. The crew looked after us,with hot chocolate after night dives and cold drinks during the day. The guides were both fun and very professional. Thank you very much for a very enjoyable first, but not last liveaboard. Wyn Thomas

Just got back from my first Liveaboard and wanted to say a great big thank you to the crew, guides and my fellow guests for making this such a fantastic trip. Everything was perfect, from the food to the accommodation and the diving was out of this world. It takes a lot of work to make a holiday this enjoyable and relaxing and the Whirlwind staff certainly delivered! Look forward to seeing you all again soon. Graeme Fraser

The boat crew are the stars of the show. They work from early until late, often behind the scenes (particularly the chefs). They are the guys that really make the trip happen. They are very well trained and helpful, and make the guests feel very welcome. The guides obviously also work hard to keep us all safe and show us those sites that are more difficult to navigate for the first time such as the inside of the Thistlegorm. Christian van der Nest

22 May 2014

Firstly, what can I say. I rock up to the boat and what a sight. Best description for non divers, imagine a chalet on water. The boat is 5 star plus quality. John Saunders

22 May 2014

The boat is in fantastic condition and is kept so clean and tidy all the time. The dive deck is really well managed and organised so everyone can get ready efficiently. The bedrooms are really comfortable and so are the beds, I have slept well every night :-) The showers have really warm water which is great in the evening after 4 dives! The dining and lounge room are so well managed, always spotless and the stewards can't do enough to help, absolutely faultless, have felt very spoiled all week. Laura Devonshire
