Whirlwind takes pride of place at the front of the award winning Tornado Marine Fleet. She is the result of many years working with divers and it shows. The approach is professional and the quality is unsurpassed. Launched in May 2006, Whirlwind certainly knows how to make a great first impression.

The signature design with split level dining room and saloon optimises the already generous space on board this 36m vessel. Light and airy, all 10 cabins are twin beds, en-suite with air con and have a safe box. The saloon area is ample with welcoming sofas, tables, plasma screen, DVD, a multi channel sound system, juice and hot drink station and of course the popular bar. The expansive upper sundeck runs almost the entire length of the boat whilst the lower sundeck is a perfect spot to sit back in and relax. Whirlwind is fully enabled for rebreather diving.

The Wrecks and Reefs itinerary is ideal for anyone new to the Red Sea. This itinerary hits all the key spots in the North, and then some. The Get Wrecked itinerary is the best way to visit the full volume of 19th and 20th C wrecks including Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas. For a trip with broader scope, try a Brothers Wrecks Special that fits in Abu Nuhas, the Brothers, Safaga, Gubal and Thistlegorm. Whirlwind stands out from the crowd on any reef and the dedicated team know how to ensure that no aspect of your trip, no matter how small, goes unattended.

Hi guys Just wanted to say a very special thank you to all the crew and guides from Whirlwind trip 18th - 25th July. This was my 6th trip with Tornado Marine Fleet and it was the best yet. A very very special thanks to Yasser and Sarah for their advice, help and making it a safari to remember. The crew and sailors are a credit to you all, in particular Mamdouh for his excellant service in the saloon and Saiid for his help and hi-jinx on the dive deck. It was for me a trip I will never forget. Many thanks again. Colette Greene

I must say firstly that the guides, Chris and Chrissie, conduct and attitude were exemplary. Their commitment and attention to the divers on board could not be improved upon in any way shape or form. Chrissie's knowledge of the dive sites, the history and the possible aquatic life found at the sites made the briefings worth going to even if one wasn't doing the dive. Chris's knowledge of equipment, diving practices and technical aspects was invaluable and immensely beneficial. They were both very approachable and never shied from sorting out individual guests problems or requests. The combination of their efforts made the whole trip relaxing and truly memorable. If it is possible, and we ever book a future holiday with Scuba Travel, we would request that Chris and Chrissie be our guides. I am speaking for my colleagues when I say these two guides made our holiday memorable and enjoyable. Mr Brading

The four of us got back from the Whirlwind Red Sea trip on Sunday.I just wanted to say the whole trip ran like clockwork, we all had a fantastic time doing all 20 dives offered. The food and accommodation were as usual of a very high standard and the crew was great. Special mention for the Whirlwind dive guides Chris and Chrissie, their organization was first class and any problems were quickly dealt with. When Helen’s high pressure hose blew out Chris fixed it in a few minutes lending her a gauge and hose for the remainder of the dives. Boat and dive information was effectively disseminated at mealtimes so nobody missed out. So a really enjoyable trip in all respects. Colin, Helen, Alice and Brendan

I would just like to say a massive thank you. From the initial phone call to book right through to the transfer to the airport home Scuba Travel have been superb. I have just returned from a week on the Whirlwind, Wrecks and Reefs tour (16/05/10 - 23/05/10). The boat was immaculate, the crew and guides (Sarah & Rada) were friendly and helpful. The Diving - superb. We also had a great group of people on the board which was the icing on the cake. This was my first liveaboard and can say for certain that I'll be back next year! Vickie

Just wanted to let you know we had a brilliant holiday, diving was excellent, the crew on the Wirlwind all lovely people, especially Mohamin in the saloon and Gazelle compressor guy, they bent over backwards for us, we left two wetsuits behind for two of the crew, and you would have thought they had won the lottery! and the dive guides Reda and Sarah fantastic people a credit to you, we had Reda last year so it was lovely to see him again, and Sarah was lots of fun, they made our week very special can't wait for the next trip will be intouch soon. Just back and, having unpacked, thought I would give you some feedback from our trip, Whirlwind 02/05/10 to 09/05/10. As usual the organisation was spot on, can understand why Scuba Travel have been voted top tour operator for so many years. Thank you Caroline, as always ensuring all information needed received and any queries answered. Whirlwind and her crew were wonderful, the food, cleanliness of boat, attention to safety, the professional, yet friendly team made for an excellent week of superb diving. Although we had never met the two dive guides Chrissie and Chris they made us all feel very much at home AGAIN. They too were friendly, professional with an attention to safety. Many thanks again. Best regards. Lynda & Richard

Just returned from a fabulous dive trip on the Whirlwind and I just had to drop you an e-mail to say "THANKS!". Top boat, faultless service, great food, both in quantity and quality, excellent informative guides, great skipper, and mega attentive crew. I have used other companies in the past, but I certainly have no intentions of going back to them. First class!. On a more personal, note I would like to pour praise on your Travel Consultant Georgina. From the moment we landed in Sharm 'til we got back to Gatwick last night, she never stopped ensuring that everybody was having a good time, had no problems and was getting all they wanted from the trip. A great ambassador for your company, and a fun dive buddy as well. Looking forward to travelling with you again. Yours sincerely. Neil

Hi Scuba Travel, Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for always sorting out such great trips. I've finally got round to editing and putting together some of the best bits from this year's June Red Sea trip on Whirlwind and have uploaded it on to YouTube. So I thought you might like to be reminded of warmer climates and blue water. It's all underwater and is in HD, so probably best to press the pause button just after you've started it, then come back to it after you've made a cup of tea (our Broadband is sooo slow), then watch it once it's downloaded. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDSbPZ7PKLs Thanks again and have a great Christmas! Hi Caroline, Just an email to say thank you to you and all at Scuba Travel for all your help with two excellent weeks in the Red Sea. I know that the organisation for my group was certainly more complicated than a normal group - but everything ran smoothly and those arriving via strange routes and travelling on, all synched perfectly. Staying on the boat for the last night of the trip was fantastic. It made the adventure feel a day longer, which really makes a big difference. On the second week we actually came in to port for the last night, so that I could give a talk at the Camel Bar. I also felt that the food was improved again and the crew were very hard working throughout. On both weeks the dive guides were excellent. As photographers we don't dive the same way as regular divers and on some trips this has led to a few wasted dives as the guides adjust. This year the guides knew we were coming at what to expect and this made such a difference. Thank you for that. From dive 1 on both weeks it ran really well. This makes the week more enjoyable for both the guests and the guides. Alex

Thank you very much for your e-mail message of 11-05-09, which awaited my return today from what was a thoroughly enjoyable trip. Yes, indeed, thanks to your kind intervention, I was provided with Cabin 8 for my sole use. I should add that Susie and Thomas proved to be dive guides of notable excellence who were unfailingly helpful, friendly and efficient. Mike Ward's presentations were splendid and added greatly to one's enjoyment of the week. Whirlwind is clearly a very well appointed vessel with a skipper and crew who perform their various duties in an admirable manner. I shall be most grateful if you will convey my appreciation to all of them, and to others involved in the highly valued air travel, hotel and other arrangements from 09 to 17 May. With renewed thanks and all good wishes. Terry
