Whirlwind has to be one of our favourite Red Sea liveaboards - and as the award winning Liveaboard of the Year 2011 clearly fellow divers share our affection for her. This is 5 star Red Sea diving at affordable prices... just one of the reasons UK divers keep coming back to this superior liveaboard. She has a well deserved reputation for the quality of finish on board, her long standing crew are the definition of attentive and she has all the award winning hallmarks of Tornado Marine fleet (from the decor to the tasty food)! Discover today how effortless diving can be when your liveaboard has been designed by divers for divers.

Whirlwind is a generous 36m from bow to stern and at 8m across, there is ample space for all 20 guests. There are 10 cabins in total, all with twin beds, en suite, air con and safe. The storage is plentiful and the showers are some of the most powerful you will find on a boat! There are 4 cabins on the main deck which are preallocated at the time of booking with no additional surcharge.

Whirlwind has everything the modern diver could want on board. The dive deck is one of the most impressive aspects - no more kitting up in a crowd on this boat! There is a camera table, 2 rinse tanks and plenty of space for all your dive kit. Whirlwind is also rebreather friendly and can pump oxygene and helium mixes (please just let us know at the time of booking). And for your relaxation between dives, there are 2 sundecks and the jacuzzi. Catch some rays, relax with a book or enjoy the hot tub. The saloon is kitted out with a modern entertainment system and a well stocked bar. Quite simply no element of this liveaboard has been overlooked. From sun up to sun down, Whirlwind is the perfect home away from home in the Egyptian Red Sea.

Excellent trip, well exercuted with safety and comfort paramount. We adjusted our itinerary and the crew and guides were very accommodating, especially Matt and Yasser 5 star. We had individuals that needed specific care and their needs were met and the dive sites and enteries were adjusted to help out so that these individuals could dive. Great job !! GH and MM

The Crew have been fantastic. Always ready to help. The guides’ dive briefs were always very accurate and informative, not just about the wreck but the wrecks’ history too. Angela and Clive

20 October 2015

The crew and guides couldn't be more helpful. The crew are always there when you need them but also liked to have a laugh and a joke at the same time. The guides were brilliant as well, always giving thorough briefs and making sure you got the best experience possible on the guided dives Fleur

You just cant fault the food, help the staff give you and the general sleeping quarters. This is why the whirlwind is the best boat in the fleet Steve and Dave

20 October 2015

I’ve not stayed on a live aboard before, so wasn’t sure what to expect, but it’s been lovely. It’s very spacious, with plenty of living and lounging room to relax between dives; the cabins are cosy, but more than enough room if you keep everything tidy and packed away Cass

The Whirlwind is a marvellous boat. I have been on it about 8 times in the last 10 years. The crew are extremely helpful and do care for their guests. Food, accommodation, arrangements are first class. Although I dived the week unguided the briefings were comprehensive and very well delivered by very professional guides Colin Murray

Really, it was simply wonderful..! I loved it, every bit of it. Withdrawal symptoms now though , so have decided to repeat the dose next year – just need to speak with the boys to coordinate dates (May? October? Both? Decisions, decisions…). I had my own cabin, which was great, but I know I should not get too used to it :). Thanks for organising the surprise cake for Mike, it was nicely done, indeed a surprise to him, it looked beautiful and I was told it also tasted delicious. So all in all a success. I was well looked after by the kitchen staff, and my guts hardly misbehaved, only once or twice and minor issues (believe it, this is pretty good going for me).Once again, thanks for all your help and you shall be hearing from me soon! Adriana

It was lovely well prepared food in such a small Galley. With more than enough to go around even if you were unfortunate to dine after Tim Tim and Sean

24 September 2015

All members of the crew were friendly and helpful, paying close attention to us. The guides were very patient with us as absolute diving beginners, which made learning this sport enjoyable. We feel lucky to have been introduced to the Red Sea by such a knowledgeable team. Katrin and Paolo

30 July 2015

We've been back a few weeks now, but I wanted to say that this was a great trip. Duxy was fantastic, with his enthusiasm and all the extra effort he put into his lectures throughout the week. It didn’t start there - we were very impressed with Thomson. We flew out on their new Dreamliner plane. It was really lovely. The only bad bit of the trip was the very late return. We were so surprised landing at 2 in the morning and the queues to get through passport control were huge! Otherwise a great trip! Thank you Georgie

13 July 2015

The food has been really great - tasty and varied. I am immensely grateful for the trouble and care taken to give me special gluten-free, vegetarian food at every meal. Thanks! Linda & Brian

13 July 2015

The crew are excellent, friendly, but not overly familiar which can be a problem on red sea boats, very helpful and careful of our cameras, which is a blessing for a camera group. Impressed with the deck hands and those in the saloon for service, smiles and knowing our names – to be commended, not forgetting those we don‟t see, who make things happen in the background. The guides have been the best to date, approachable, friendly, firm with a good sense of humour. Sarah White

13 July 2015

Every member of the Crew is excellent, always helpful and attentive. The Guides know their stuff and provide clear briefings. All are very friendly. Jane

13 July 2015

We have been on this boat before and as before we found it very comfortable and our cabin was great being on the same level as the dive deck. Wendy & Roger
