Whirlwind has to be one of our favourite Red Sea liveaboards - and as the award winning Liveaboard of the Year 2011 clearly fellow divers share our affection for her. This is 5 star Red Sea diving at affordable prices... just one of the reasons UK divers keep coming back to this superior liveaboard. She has a well deserved reputation for the quality of finish on board, her long standing crew are the definition of attentive and she has all the award winning hallmarks of Tornado Marine fleet (from the decor to the tasty food)! Discover today how effortless diving can be when your liveaboard has been designed by divers for divers.

Whirlwind is a generous 36m from bow to stern and at 8m across, there is ample space for all 20 guests. There are 10 cabins in total, all with twin beds, en suite, air con and safe. The storage is plentiful and the showers are some of the most powerful you will find on a boat! There are 4 cabins on the main deck which are preallocated at the time of booking with no additional surcharge.

Whirlwind has everything the modern diver could want on board. The dive deck is one of the most impressive aspects - no more kitting up in a crowd on this boat! There is a camera table, 2 rinse tanks and plenty of space for all your dive kit. Whirlwind is also rebreather friendly and can pump oxygene and helium mixes (please just let us know at the time of booking). And for your relaxation between dives, there are 2 sundecks and the jacuzzi. Catch some rays, relax with a book or enjoy the hot tub. The saloon is kitted out with a modern entertainment system and a well stocked bar. Quite simply no element of this liveaboard has been overlooked. From sun up to sun down, Whirlwind is the perfect home away from home in the Egyptian Red Sea.

Very helpful and polite crew and guides. Made my first liveaboard very relaxed and enjoyable. Special thanks to Manon for helping me complete my advanced diver course and explaining every aspect so that I understood fully. No problems. Mike & Charlee

22 April 2015

The Whirlwind is comfortable with enough space for the job. Plenty of room on the dive deck. Great holiday, thank you. Val & James

22 April 2015

Very nice boat, well laid out. Bathroom got a little smelly because of the lack of ventilation, and difficult to dry towels. Great kitting area and the crew are very helpful. Mark & Luke

I have dived on many dive charter boats and I feel that Whirlwind is one of the best in terms of general appearance, maintenance & safety. Our cabin had a minor problem with continuously flushing loo, but this was fixed on day 2. The spare towels were most welcome. The lounge and saloon were comfortable and well equipped with drinks facilities. The size of the boat meant extra space in the kitting up area. Michelle Howard

All the crew and guides were very helpful getting us into and out of the water. The briefings were well planned and well presented. There was always the option of guided dives but because of the detailed briefings we were able to do unguided ones easier. Jack Mason

14 April 2015

Guides available to guide you if required but importantly if you don’t want guiding will brief you and let you do your own dive, a big plus for some people. Guides also very knowledgable on all the sites we dived and options open to us Steve Gibson

Brilliant dive guides – very friendly, happy to answer questions, helpful with any problems that arose, sensitive to different abilities on board, always available to help. Really good briefings – loved the numerous maps and then actual photos of the dive sites – made it much easier to recognise parts of the dive. Polly Wake

Food was as expected...... excellent! Plenty of it and well presented (and tasty). Heard comments from other guests that the food was better than they had experienced on competitors boats. Paul

Very helpful, attentive and professional. The guides are very good at pointing out things on the dive, and making sure everyone understands the dive plan. The drinks after you get back from a dive are a nice touch – especially the hot chocolate. Dave & Seb

18 March 2015

very nice boat, not been on her before. Glad we chose a cabin downstairs as they are more spacious. Would have been great to have a beach/sunbathing towel. Food was plentiful and they catered well for different tastes and diets. Jo

Guides & crew were really great! A top team. The guide briefings were very informative and Yasser was very good at keeping us safe on and off the boat. The crew were very attentive and couldn't be more pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for such a great week. We will definitely be back in the future. Astrid & Hamish

All were awesome. The crew were very friendly and always on hand to help. The guides were equally great. Lots of fun and very knowledgeable! In all seriousness, the guides were the best I've ever had. I've done one liveaboard before with a different company- this week has been on another level. Bertie Gregory

08 December 2014

The boat is spacious and comfortable. It is very clean and the crew clearly take pride in keeping it in good condition for the guests. The bar and restaurant are perfect for the guests needs and the external seating areas are a wonderful place to enjoy the scenery and catch a few rays with the sea breeze. The cabins are cosy but comfortable. I would recommend this boat. Zoe Puddephatt

This was my first experience of this very iconic wreck (Thistlegorm). I had heard many stories from friends that have visited it before, but even still, the stories where not even close to how amazing the wreck really is. The guides where very thorough in there briefings which made the navigation of the outside very clear and easy, and they were never far away from us to be able to point out other points of interest. Amazing dive and one I would love to do again. Tristan Boulton

08 December 2014

Dolphins, dolphins and more dolphins. Made everybody's day to spend 30 minutes on the seabed singing and dancing with 10 very friendly dolphins. Oh yes, the wreck was good too. Paul Firth
