Add to this the miles of white sandy beaches leading to an aqua marine sea and it is easy to see what the attraction is for visitors. Yet this is only half of Fiji's appeal. Fiji's reefs, pinnacles and sea mounts create a varied itinerary that everyone can enjoy. The bright corals come in every colour and sit side by side with huge seafans and whip corals. There are over 400 different types of coral so you are guaranteed a dazzling underwater scenery. Yet this is just the backdrop - Fiji also boasts some remarkable marine life. There are plenty of big fish encounters with reef sharks, manta, eagle rays being some of the most memorable. There is even the occasional passing pilot whale. Thick schools of barracuda and snapper share the drop off with tuna and turtles munch their way along the soft coral reefs. Smaller critters thrive here too. Ghost pipefish are the masters of camouflage while pygmy sea horses cling the fans, hidden from view. Yellow and blue ribbon eels wave in the currents. Nudibranch are scattered across the sea bed. Diving in Fiji will go beyond your expectations and beyond belief.
