Honduras is one of the Caribbean's most famous diving destinations as it is home to Utila and Roatan. These islands are best known for the whalesharks that can be found off their coastline, with excellent chances of snorkeling with these majestic creatures. Our Honduras liveaboards depart from Utila so you can dive both of the most famous dive islands in one trip. But this is not all there is to discover on a scuba diving holiday in Honduras! Your liveaboard home for the week has been hand picked by us to meet Scuba Travel's exacting standards and caters for your every creature comfort. From on board jacuzzi, entertainment system and even on board email, the luxurious quality is evident from start to finish on your Honduran dream liveaboard holiday.
There are year round departures too so you can enjoy the Caribbean for winter sun or a summer holiday getaway. Dive groups are kept intentionally small so you can experience the thrills and tranquility this corner of the Caribbean has to offer. The diving is well suited for all experience levels and what diving there is! The walls around the islands drop away into the blue. Hover over a plunging wall and soak up the rush. Coral drenched reefs are packed with bat fish, jacks, turtles and pelagics. Explore the seldom dived Coco's seamounts to really get off the beaten track. Little is understood about these sea mounts and divers can witness firsthand that plethora of marine life they attract. There are wreck dives too, a reminder of the perilous past mariners faced around these shores. Honduras is a varied and dramatic Caribbean diving destination and one that will live up to expectations.

The air temperatures do not vary a great deal throughout the year so you can dive Honduras anytime of the year. The dry season is January to August. As this is a tropical destination, there is more rainfall between October to December but this does not stop diving and is less heavy along the coastline to inshore. Hurricane season is between August to November but Honduras does not often get serious storms due to it's location.
Utila and Roatan are most famous for the whalesharks which congregate in the area but these are not the only highlights to watch out for:
- Remote Coco's seamounts
- Excellent macro life
- Wreck diving
- Dive at Cannery Bank
- Unusual camouflage fish - stargazers!
