Hurghada sits on the mainland of Egypt, almost directly opposite Sharm in the Sinai. The oldest of the Egyptian resorts, Hurghada has evolved into a modern resort with plenty to see and do. Luxurious hotels mean you can enjoy this stretch of stunning coastline from a prime location and families are always welcome. With restaurants of every kind in the town, you are never short of options and there are some brilliant bars and cafes with long standing reputation. Luxor is a day trip away for the more adventurous or ride into the desert for a different point of view. There is never a dull moment in Hurghada.

Snorkelers have plenty of choice from the gorgeous reefs in and around Giftun island. Shaab El Erg attracts bottlenose dolphin at any time of the day and is a lovely dive to boot. Trigger fish, blue spotted sting rays and grouper are frequent visitors to the shallower reefs, ideal for training dives. Erg Somaya is an adrenalin fueled drift dive, sweeping past giant gorgonian sea fans. Wreck divers cannot resist the lure of Abu Nuhas, where no less than 4 wrecks have met their watery ends. Hurghada also hosts one of Egypt's few artificial reefs - a deep wreck sunk for technical training dives. It is easy to see why Hurghada remains one of Egypt's most enduring resorts.
