About Marina Lodge & Emperor Marsa
If you are looking for an outstanding dive centre and hotel combo for your next Red Sea resort holiday, then look no further! Only a 10 minute transfer from Marsa Alam airport, the Marina Lodge sits in the heart of the impressive Port Ghalib complex and is your gateway to the incredible dive sites of the Southern Red Sea, surrounded by desert along a stretch of unspoilt coastline. The team at Emperor Divers are on hand on site making this a diver's hotel in a prime location at the heart of the Southern Red Sea. Perfect!
Each of the 206 rooms is decorated in a Nubian style and set around their water side location. Rooms overlook the harbour, pool or out to sea, and all have air con, balcony, mini bar and en suite come as standard. There are twin or double rooms and family suites. There are also 2 wheelchair accessible rooms.
The resort has everything you could need on site... not just the dive centre. The main restaurant serves a range of international dishes and there is a pool bar if leaving your spot in the sun seems too difficult! There are 2 swimming pools and a large sun terrace for soaking up the rays. Or why not take a short stroll to the hotel beach. The roof top terrace is a popular hang out at the end of the diving day. The Marina Lodge is a 3* hotel that was designed for divers. The focus here is on the remarkable diving and trading stories at the end of another great day blowing bubbles.

Weather and Climate
Fine weather is the order of the day pretty much throughout the year, with rainfall quite rare and short lived. The hottest time of the year is July – August with air temperatures over 30°C. Even in Egypt’s so called ‘winter’ the average rarely falls below 20°C. Water temperature varies from 20°C in February to 29°C in September. Please choose your exposure suit accordingly, depending on your personal preferences.
As standard our holiday packages are based on flights from London Gatwick, direct to your Red Sea hub - Sharm el Shekh, Hurghada or Marsa Alam. Where possible, we are happy to offer regional departures, in particular Manchester. A supplement may apply for regional departures. Times and any applicable supplements will be confirmed by your travel consultant before you finalise your holiday. Unfortunately, not all regional flight routings are compatible with liveaboard schedules. If you wish to make your own flight arrangements to Egypt, let us know and we can remove the cost of the international flights from your quote. Please do not confirm any flight arrangements yourself before your holiday is confirmed by us.
As flights are direct between the UK and Egypt, there are no stop over options available.

Marsa Alam is growing in reputation as one of Egypt's must see diving destinations and feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of home. The diving is endlessly varied and suits divers from complete novice right through to technical guru. A rare dugong spends his days munching sea grass alongside massive turtles and guitar sharks - a phenomenal sighting if your luck is in. Ras Shona combines a seagrass bed, ideal for small critters, with a gorgeous hard coral reef and is real favourite for batfish, crocodile fish and lionfish. Elphinstone will satisfy your thirst for prime wall diving and a fast drift. Oceanic white tips, hammerheads, manta and greys are all seen here seasonally and whenever you visit, the enormous gorgonians and clouds of anthias will impress... these are just a handful of the dive sites you could visit.
- House Reef at the Marina Lodge hotel beach
- Fleet of day boats located at Port Ghalib harbour
- Shore & sprredboat diving options
- Only 10 minutes from Marsa Alam airport

The fast RIB heads out regularly too to sites such as Elphinstone so you spend more time in the water!
