Marsa Alam
Dive Resorts
Marsa Alam is the furthest south of all of Egypt's dive resorts and undeniably has something distinct to offer for a scuba diving holiday. Remote, Marsa Alam is an oasis on the edge of the sea front. Scuba Travel have selected each of our Marsa Lama hotels to ensure that your next Egyptian diving holiday stands out above the rest in a region few other divers visit. Calm and peaceful, escape from the crowds here and dip your toes into the aquamarine waters. No creature comforts need to be left behind and non divers will get just as much out of a visit here. If you prefer to focus on diving, or learning to dive, and you will visit the great dive sites that have catapulted Marsa Alam to the forefront of Red Sea diving, in the safe hands of a professional dive team.
Marsa Alam's local marine life has earnt quite a reputation. Snorkeling at Sha'ab Samadai (Dolphin House) can get you up close to the local pod of bottlenose dolphin, darting around their lagoon. The grassy sea beds are prime fodder for dugong, a type of sea cow. Dive guides smile at Dennis' name and he has been a regular sighting around the local bays. Great big sea turtles can also be found in the sea grass of Ras Shona, hosting remora on their shells. Perfect for novice divers, the fringing reef plate that runs down the coastline is filled with cleaning stations, batfish, and camouflage fish. If you hanker after big fish, the oceanics and sharks on Elphinstone's walls must be seen to be believed. Go diving in Marsa Alam for a Red Sea dive holiday that is quite different from the other Egyptian resorts with special sightings all of its own.

We had a fab week in Egypt and would not hesitate to recommend Scuba Travel - fantastic service !
As Marsa Alam is further south the air and water temperatures are slightly higher that the Northern Red Sea. You really can dive here all year so no matter if you want winter sun or a summer break, this is a great choice. Hammerheads generally prefer cooler water up to about 26 degree and the oceanic white tips are most numerous from late summer to the end of the year.
Diving Highlights
