The Zabargard Berenice hotel is a tranquil oasis in an otherwise dusty landscape. There are 112 rooms, built mostly in a Moorish bungalow style and surrounded by lush gardens. There are large single, double or triple rooms to suit all travellers. All room have en suite, digital safe and satellite TV. Most boast glorious sea views and rooms with mini bar can be requested.
The Zabargad Berenice resort has a peaceful atmosphere and the pace of life revolves around the diving. It even has its own timezone, 3 hours ahead of GMT. The main dining room has lovely views over the large pool, beach and gardens and hosts themed evenings for special events. The Divers' Bar offers drinks, snacks and a stunning sea view. Emperor Divers have a long standing reputation in Egypt for the quality of their dive centres. Their Hamata centre carries on this tradition of excellence with a full range of PADI and BSAC recreational and technical courses. Not only are their multi-lingual instructors some of the most experienced, they also pay close attention to the small details. The heated pool, air conditioned class room and extensive equipment store are just some of the facilities that make this dive centre stand out.

House reef, day boat and fast RIB dives are all on offer here! The house reef is open from 8am – 5.45pm (or sunset) and all you have to is walk to the jetty and jump in! A reef wall runs along the shoreline with coral blocks to investigate in either a north or south direction with depths of approximately 8-10 metres and a sandy plateau gradually slopping off at 20 metres and dropping off to deeper depths.
The day boats depart each day from the nearby Hamata jetty (less than 5 mins away). From here most divers head to the sublime hard corals and caves of Fury Shoal. Abu Galawa Sorya, Shaab Claude, Malahi.... these are just some of the highlights. Special trips are also routinely arranged to Dolphin House and the Hamada Wreck (supplement paid locally).
