The Royal Grand Sharm enjoys pride of place perched on the cliffs near Ras Um Sid, a local headland frequented by divers and snorkelers. A short drive from Naama Bay, the cliffs of Ras um Sid are the ideal spot to watch the stunning horizon of the northern Red Sea and relax back into the comfort of a fine hotel.
The Royal Grand Sharm lives up to its name. This 4* hotel accommodates 350 rooms with family suites available. All have private balconies and most a sea view and are equipped with air con, private bathroom, mini fridge, satellite TV and a safe. Packed with restaurants, bars and pool cafe, this is a great choice for families. The hotel has a feast of on site amenities including a Turkish bath. The swimming pools cascade down the hotel, towards the beach and the Camel Dive Club. The Royal Grand Sharm will appeal to anyone looking to step outside the hustle of Naama Bay.
Camels satellite dive centre sits right on the edge of the reef, accessible from the beach via a pontoon. There is hardly a stones throw between centre and reef. The centre offers shore diving locally or boat dives departing from Naama jetty. Scuba Travel offers a standard package of 7 nights accommodation (B&B) with a 5 day dive package (2 dives a day). Starting with your very first breaths underwater, the clear visibility and warm water makes Sharm the perfect learn to dive holiday choice. As your experience grows taste the thrills of Tiran or Ras Mohammed. Big fish, lush coral gardens and deep walls all create unique dives. Wreck diving too is on the menu with the Thistlegorm and Dunraven all within a sail from shore. Log some bottom time or learn new skills... the Red Sea has it all.
For those divers staying outside of the Naama area, you can still reap the knowledge and expertise of the Camel Dive club. This slick operation runs the diving activities at the Royal Grand hotel and from this base, you have a range of options. With their seafront location the Red Sea lures you in. Never dived? No problem! PADI courses can be completed on site, with poolwork and classroom sessions on site. Certified divers can relax with guided house reef dives and clearly designated entry and exit points. Or grab the bus to dive from the day boats to reach sites lying further away.

There are two house reefs for use, both within easy access of the beach. Paradise forms the northern side of Ras Um Sid and is a popular site for learning to dive, new divers and snorkelers alike. Turtle Bay is a quiet site with a gentle drift so grab your tank and enjoy this gem, rarely dived by day boats. If boat diving appeals, you will be transferred to the fleet of day boats that depart each day for two or three dive days. The dive centre will handle all of the logistics so you just need to take a breath and enjoy as the beauty of the Red Sea unfolds before you.
