The Wrecks & Reefs itinerary is one of the all time great itineraries in the Egyptian Red Sea but now it takes on a tek twist with Scuba Travel's unique Tek Special. Do you want extended bottom times at some of the Red Sea's most iconic dive sites? Want the freedom to dive down to 60m? Then jump aboard for your next tek expedition. Also on board you will find our resident tek expert Mark Powell. Few tek divers are as acomplished as Mark and with his expert briefings throughout the week you can rediscover diving in the Red Sea from a fresh perspective.

All of the dive sites planned for the Wrecks & Reefs tek special have been selected for the outstanding diving between 30 and 60m. Leave the recreational divers above you. The wrecks are some of the best techincal dives going. Who could resist multiple dives on the Rosalie Moller? Or spending litterally hours at the Thistlegorm. See Abu Nuhas with fresh eyes as you combine more than 1 wreck without surfacing. There will also be an optional dive at the Al Qamar al Saudi Al Masri. This wreck has only relatively recently appeared on the radar of Red Sea tek divers - feel the rush as you descend onto a wreck few divers have seen. Then there are the sheer walls of Tiran, Thomas Canyon and Ras Mohammed. Follow the strewn wreckage of the Yolanda and Lara into the deep (just watch your depth as the wrecks call you down!).

The Wrecks & reef tek special will suit any diver with an active interest in tek wreck diving. You will need to be certified for Deco Procedures. Mark Powell will be able to complete any training necessary on board - just speak to the team at the time of booking to discuss what TDI or IANTD courses would suit best. Scuba Travel are limiting the group size at 16 guests to ensure that everyone has the space needed. A manifold twin set (12lt) is included in your trip cost for open circuit divers and rebreather divers will love the free oxygene tanks and dil tanks as well prebooked excess baggage (up to 40kgs hold). No worries if you need to rent some extra kit or want individual mixes (additional charges apply). Let us take the strain so all you have to do is dive, dive, dive,

Liveaboards that offer Wrecks & Reefs
Hurricane will be running a Wrecks & Reefs Tek Special in 2012.

Embarkation point
This itinerary starts at the El Mina harbour in Sharm el Sheikh

Trip duration
This trip includes 7 nights on board your liveaboard. There are 2 technical dives planned for each day with a total of between 9 and 11 dives - this will mean you can enjoy long run times (up to 120 mins)

Arrival
On arrival in Sharm you will be met and taken directly to the boat. The boat will not sail on your arrival night but rather depart early the following morning.

Ras Mohammed
Where better to start your week than on the plunging walls of Ras Mohammed! Find your weights, get your gear set and go for a drift along the dramatic Shark Reef. This wall descends past 800m so pick your depth and off you go. For your second dive why not try the incredible drift over from Anemone City? Or head into the deep to investigate the shattered remains of the Yolanda strewn down the wall.

Thistlegorm
The dives at the Thistlegorm are not about depth - here it is all about the extended bottom time. Go at your own pace as you nose through the munitions pile. Weave through the stern with its anti aircraft gun. Or head through the deck holds as you discover rifles, bikes, trucks and so much more. As you drop in for the second dive why not head to the bow and drop over the bow. Follow the anchor line out or scoot round looking at the locomotives.

Abu Nuhas
There are 4 wrecks around Abu Nuhas and over 2 dives you can mix these up as you wish. Dive the Giannis D and Carnatic. Or even dive the Chisoula K and Marcus (depending on surface conditions).

Rosalie Moller
The Rosalie Moller was made for tek diving with perfect depths. Why not spend time over the stern section before you look more closely at the for section. There is so much to find here you will love every second. Any wreck penetration here is at the discretion of the dive guide and strict safety guidelines followed as well as lining off.

Al Qamar al Saudi Al Masri
Be one of the few divers to dive this recently discovered wreck. Huge parts of the super structure remain in tact and it is an exciting option for regulars to the Red Sea. This is an optional dive at the deeper limits of the itinerary's scope.

Tiran & the Lara
Tiran has steep walls and canyons to explore - the most famous being Thomas Canyon which drops away to around 100m! Follow the crack down through the arches and pop back up onto the reef at 60m (or head deeper if your certification allows). The Lara is strewn over the back of Jackson reef and its shattered remains drop down into the blue.

Departure
On your final morning you will disembark from the boat after breakfast. You will then be taken to a hotel where you will have day use of the facilities as well as storage. A buffet lunch will be provided for you. If you would like to use a room during this day please enquire at reception. There is a local charge for this and it is subject to availability. You will then be picked up and taken to the airport for your final flight home.

Hurricane stands out in the Egyptian Red Sea - and not just because she is one of the few steel hulled vessels. Many Red Sea liveaboards are compared to Hurricane, but few are as enduringly popular. She has won the prestigious "...
