The Maldives Expedition spends not one but two luscious long weeks scuba diving your way through the Maldives. If you are looking for an extended liveaboard for your next diving holiday, this is the Maldives itinerary for you! The dive sites you visit on the Maldives Expedition have been selected to give you more time than ever to explore this underwater paradise. Cruising a total of 7 different atolls systems, you will visit all the dive sites that have made the Maldives such a popular destination for scuba divers. Jump aboard your dream diving holiday for 2 weeks of action in the Maldives.

The Maldives Expedition will take you to all the great dive sites plus some lesser known option encompasing North Male, South Male, North Ari, South Ari, Wataru, Mulaku and Felidhu atolls. Frequent whale shark sightings only add to the excitement. Stop and snorkel with one of these peaceful plankton eaters for the experience of a lifetime. The adventure starts with some easy cave diving. A combination of caverns, overhangs and swim throughs, schools of squirrel fish and snapper - Vaadhoo and Vellasaru must be seen to be believed. Innafushi and Radhiggaa are excellent spots for eagle rays... the first of many ray sightings to come. Ellaidhoo and Fesdhoo boast long white beaches and huge coral islands, giving way to clouds of jacks, tuna while grey reef sharks and turtles wade through the schools. The lesser dived atolls of Wataru, Mulaku and Felidhu are tiny atolls with big diving and the names of Anbara, Fotteyo and Fulidhoo will stand out in your log book as fond memories and adrenalin pumping dives. By the time you return to harbour, you will have completed a perfect two weeks of sun, sea and sublime diving.

The Maldives Expedition will suit anyone for whom a week's diving is just not enough. Sail the blue horizon and experience the fast drifts, vast numbers of fish and enthralling big fish encounters for yourself. Due to the fast currents encountered on some sites, some experience of drift diving is advised. Photographers will find plenty of subjects and even non divers can enjoy snorkeling with some island trips along the way. With 2 weeks at your disposal you can see even more than ever in this fabulous destination and visit sites that many visitors miss. Something new awaits you on each atoll system so there is a huge amount of variety to keep even the most demanding diver happy. And with the premium service and boats that our customers deserve, you really can escape it all with the Maldives Expedition.

This is a typical example of the Maldives Expedition itinerary. The schedule is subject to change according to prevailing weather conditions and is only given as a example of what you would usually encounter during your holiday.

Day 1
On arrival in Male you will be met and take by boat (approx 30mins) your liveaboard for the week. After completing the paperwork, you can settle into your cabin and starting relaxing. The boat may not leave that night, depending on arrival times for all the guests.

Day 2
The adventure starts in South Male atolls. Vaadhoo Caves is filled with fun overhangs and swim throughs. Vellasaru has further caves to explore and a great location for stingrays and turtles. A dive at Bolufushi then rounds off a perfect start to the trip.

Day 3
The boat sails into North Ari atoll. Ellaidhoo is an enourmous reefs packed with marine life. The second dive at Mushimasgali is packed with fish life before a wreck stop in the afternoon. The Halaveli wreck was purposely sunk in the 90s to create an artificial reef and is now covered in soft corals.

Day 4
Staying in Ari Atoll jump in at Maayafushi, with several sites to pick from to dive. Another wreck awaits at Fesdu before the day wraps up at Maalos Thila.

Day 5
Maamigili Beru is the starting dive for the day and a great place to see your first manta of the trip... if you have not already! Kalahani Huraa can be a fast drift dive but keep your eye peeled for whitetips. The first night dive of the trip is then planned for a sheltered spot in south Ari Atoll.

Day 6
More time to explore South Ari Atoll. The morning starts with a dive at Inna Fushi, which is a great stpo for reef sharks and big balls of baracuda. Radhigga thila is up next with its impressive schools of fish and good macro life. The afternoon dive is planned for Hukurudhoo where you find the famous manta point. Watch the manta swoop into this cleaning station.

Day 7
Maamigili Kandu is a great place to start the morning and is one of the best places in the Maldives to find whalesharks. The next dive is on the Machafushi wreck before wrapping up the day's diving at Kudhara.

Day 8
Make your final dives in South Ari today. Dhigurah Beru is another of the area's best known dive sites and when the current is running is teeming with fish life. Dhangheti thila is a long slinky thila with a small cave system. The boat then heads into Wataru atoll where the diving is excellent and well suited to more advanced divers.

Day 9
Spend the whole day exploring Wataru atoll. Divers do not visit this far often and the reefs in particular are in wonderful condition, especially the gorgonian sea fans.

Day 10
Mulaku atoll was only opened to tourists at the turn of the millenium and dive sites are still being identified. Medhufushi island and Hakuraa offer some of the best diving. There are some brilliant drift dives so keep looking for big fish hanging in the currents.

Day 11
The boat will head into Felidhu atoll and look for hammerheads ay Fottheyo. Even if there are no sharks, the schooling jacks hunting are always impressive. Rakeedhoo Corner is a deep wall that attracts fish and pelagics alike. The bio diversity here is phenomenal. The afternoon dive at Anbara is a gentle location with more scenic attractions underwater than big fish.

Day 12
Fotteyo Falhu is the longest unbroken reef in the Maldives and an excellent spot for manta and whalesharks. Alimatha is a drift dive with the promise of yet more big fish encouters. The overhangs here are a fun way to off gas in the shallows. In the afternoon you can explore Fulidhoo caves.

Day 13
Dive at Guraidhoo Kandu for masses of fish life and swift currents. The baot will then start to head back towards Male but the diving continues to excel. Kadoomaafushi is the ideal second dive after all that action in the morning before your final dive of the day at Gulhi. This is a great spot for pelagics passing in the deep water channel between the islands.

Day 14
Emboodhu Finolhu stands out for the white sandy beaches on the surface and gorgoues diving beneath the waves. The final dive is around Male before the dive kit gets packed up. The last night is spent on the boat.

Day 15
Breakfast is in the morning before the transfers are made for your international flights home.
