The Waterfront Scuba Store was first opened in the spring of 1994. Back then it was opened as the second of what became a 15 strong group of Mikes Diving Store outlets. The franchise was purchased by Andy in January 2000 to compliment his already succesfull St Albans Store and both shops enjoyed trading as a Mikes franchised store until Mike calder sadly passed away.
In January 2012 Andy took the decision to leave the Mikes group and trade under the name of Waterfront Scuba.

Our Scuba School has been awarded PADI 5 star IDC status, this together with out TDI center facility means that we alwyas have teaching materials from PADI, BASC & TDI available. We can take you from an open water diver all the way through to becoming a instructor both sports and technical diving. We have an extensive range of scuba spares and accessories including the Ambient Pressure range of CCR units. All our equipment can be tested or tried in our 6 metre deep swimming pool after which if you are not happy with your purchase we will take it back and work with you to find you a replacement that better suits your needs.

Nobody can be that enthusiastic about diving equipment without being really enthusiastic about diving. Quite right.
We have a small team of qualified staff lead by Andy, Evans, Steve and David who together make Waterfront Scuba Store and School tick.
The team came from a various sports and technical diving back grounds and quickly established Waterfront Scuba Dive Center as one of the best dive shops and dive schools in Essex and the south East.
Today we are widely recognised as having some one of the best diving service engineers in the business. Many of our original divers from the early nineties still send their equipment to us to be serviced. Depite the fact that they have moved miles away!
As you can imagine our extensive experience gained over the years in the sport is a real asset to us.
Andy has been at the store since the end of 2000 after joining us from the St Albans Store. He loves every aspect of the sport but his passion is deep wreck diving. He has been in the industry since 2000 and a diver for over 20 years. His diving has taken him to some of the best wreck dives around the world. He‘s is a BSAC, PADI and TDI instructor to CCR mixed gas level and was one of the first divers to fully embrace the buddy inspiration rebreather when launched in 1997. So much so that he hasn‘t dived on open circuit now for over 15 years. His happy to share his extensive Knowledge of diving be it scuba equipment, the wrecks in the english channel or technical diver training.
If your interested in CCR, be it buying, servicing or learning to use them your guaranteed an enthusiastic response from Andy. Oh did we mention he likes a cuppa Tea and a Yum Yum!
With the number of trips we organise each year it was inevitable that we became a Scuba Travel Recommended Dive Centre. Enquires from the non diving public are growing weekly, many wish to learn whilst on holiday so a mix and match a package holiday, currently we have the following departures scheduled.
Grand Sea Serpent

Can i just take this opportunity of thanking every one who supported our Red Sea trip last week. I have run around 25 of these trips over the years I can honestly say this was one of the nicest trips personally for me. Yes we had a great boat run by great crew, fantastic food and dive guilds, Stunning diving and marine life but it was the people who came that made it special for me. What a smashing group you all was. I was such a pleasure to be in your company and see you all progress so well with you diving. A massive well done to all those who gained diver grades. We ended up with 17 new diver certs. Finally may I just express publicly my thanks to Steve Elliot, simply one of the best diving professionals I've ever met what a joy it is working with you.
