Sri Lanka's coastline is a haven for big marine mammals and now you have the chance to snorkel off shore with these behemoths from the comfort of your liveaboard. The Sri Lankan Aggressor goes further afield than before for the best and most reliable encounters. Here the water is clearer and the sightings even more impressive. Come face to face with the world's biggest whale, the Blue whale, as well as dolphins and smaller whales.

During the Whale and Dolphin snorkelling weeks, guests will have the opportunity to snorkel with up to thirteen species of whales and eight species of dolphin. These include blue whales, sperm whales, humpback whales, beaked whales, melon headed whales, pilot whales, and false killer whales. Two of the predominant species that are resident in Sri Lanka, are the sperm whale which averages 40 - 60 feet and the blue whale which averages 60 - 100 feet long and weighs up to 200 tons. World renowned marine naturalist Howard Martenstyn is onboard to offer education information on behavior patterns. Over the last 15 years he has documented over 3000 whale sightings around Sri Lanka. These weeks depart from Trincomalee and Colombo depending on the season.

Everyone is welcome on board! This is a snorkelling only itinerary with no scuba diving. There are 2 large fibreglass zodiacs on Sri Lankan Aggressor. They will be launched several times a day and each run will last 1-3 hours, depending on the proximity of the whale activity and time of day. The Sri Lankan Aggressor itself has been fitted out with hydrophones, so while you are on the boat you can even listen to the whales talking to each other!
