Last year's festive fun

Want to celebrate Christmas and go diving? Well why not join the Scuba Santas on December 18th at the National Diving and Activity Centre (NDAC).  Their goal is to get as manay divers as possible in the water dressed as Santa Claus (of course!) to break their current world record.  It will only take more than 158 divers simultaneously scuba diving (at least 10 mins) dressed in cheery Santa oufits.  This is the 5th year for Scuba Santas and for many a diver, it is the best dive of the year as well as being great fun.  Everyone can take part!

All of this is not just for our entertainment though.  Scuba Santas began as a chance to raise much needed funds for charity.  In 2011 you will be funraising for a wonderful cause, the RNLI.  This has been chosen as thanks for the great service that the brilliant crews provide to the UK diving community throughout the year in all conditions.  Last year the jolly Scuba Santas raised over £15 000 for crew training at the RNLI and in 2011 they are hoping to break the £20 000 mark.  There is also a raffle and auction being held on the day.  There are a host of dive goodies up for grabs, including 2 £100 Scuba Travel vouchers.

So if you are feeling festive, make this a date for your Christmas calender.  You don’t even need to register.  Just turn up on the day at the NDAC, Chepstow, and let the fun begin.  The first dive is planned for 10:30 and the second at 13:30
