I recently posted a blog about having fun using in phone apps to stretch your creative faculties a bit (click here) This of course is lot’s of fun but at the same time if you are a company like Scuba Travel or a dive centre or club, with a fast growing web presence on Social Media, at the last count we had nearly 40,000 likes on our Facebook page, then you probably already realise the benefits of things like Twitter (@ScubaUWphoto), or Instagram (scubauwphoto), or more recently Pinterest (Scuba Travel)

So I thought I would write a mini blog showing the step by step process that took less than a couple of minutes this morning when I got up to see my girlfriend off to work.
I am using an App called Diptic and the entire procedure was carried out on my phone.
From choosing the pictures to using the app, so here goes.

First you need to download and open the app, it is available on both iOS and Android and costs very little.
Here’s the opening page screenshot.

It’s very intuitive once you open the program.

Just one page of many layouts available

They also allow you to download and buy new layouts.

Can you spot the one I used for the post?

Can you spot the one I used for the original Instagram post? Clue I’m a bit of an old hippy!

The app remembers and places the last pictures you chose into your layout choice, this is all done with a few taps of the screen.

Choose your pictures by double tapping on the previous pic, and your camera roll will open uo. You then can move re-size and alter you pictures positioning. As you see fit.

You can change most aspects of the layout, and things like borders, and background textures etc.

You can then alter the original parameters to your hearts content, the world is your lobster.

You can throw good taste and aesthetics right out of the window if you choose, in making your quick statement, there’s no harm done.

You can even add text.

Place a message, quote or thought onto your finished masterpiece as you wish

And when your done editing Diptic will let you post onto the Social media of your choice in my case this morning I posted and shared to our Instagram and Twitter pages.

The final picture I settled upon.

The point is that it takes a few minutes at most, and then you can engage with your followers in a fun and lighthearted way, you can do this wherever you are waiting for the bus, or as I did over my early morning coffee. It’s easy and since posting the original post just over an hour ago, we’ve had half a dozen Instagram likes some new followers ,  along with over 500 views on our Facebook page and a few new Twitter followers,  in such a short time.

This is just one of hundreds of fun apps which I touched upon in the Appy New Year blogpost I put up on New Years Day, they can all be used with just a few clicks, and mastered really easily. The rest is just up to you and your imagination. So have fun and spread the word, and grow your Social Media presence.
