Egypt: Yes I know we have mentioned this before but 2011 is the year of the dolphin. North and South divers have reported more dolphin sightings than ever before. This week the divers on Mistral not only saw dolphins at sun rise (how gorgeous) but the divers then were lucky enough to see them underwater. If you have ever wanted to see dolphins – make sure you get to the Red Sea this year!
Indonesia: Eco divers at the Lembeh resort have had an unusual week… well to be fair, most weeks there are far from mundane. There was a little octopus who decided to make a coke bottle his new home. This awesome pic was taken by the talented Cary Yanny. The divers were also amazed to watch some baby flamboyant cuttlefish being born. Magical.
Turks & Caicos: The Caribbean is famous for a magnificent sponges and brilliant macro – and the week enjoyed by all on Turks & Caicos Aggressor certainly lived up in this respect. But Turks & Caicos is also well known for its larger inhabitants. And this week divers in French Cay saw the shark spectacle for themselves. Reef sharks and nurse sharks were frequent companions as well as a rather photogenic eagle ray that really wanted his photo taking!
