Egypt: More wreck diving last week on Hurricane as the guys got and and rusty on an Escorted Get Wrecked. A cracking week was had by all but it was the Thistlegorm that garnered ooohs and aaaaahs all around. The old favourite was in splendid form with no current, overflowing with marine life and for the first time, many divers spotted the radial aero engine. Over on shore, the team at Emperor Hurgada were off playing with dolphins at El Gouna when a manta cruised into view.
Maldives: Ok so last week we were all excited about the start of the manta season. This is ramping up in numbers and photo pro Alex Mustard is off this weekend so see it all for himself – expect some incredible pics. But the added bonus, and completely surprising for even the dive guides – was the humpback that put in an appearance next to Orion this week!
Galapagos: Think Galapagos and you probably think sharks. But this is not all you can see and boy, guests on board Galapagos Sky are really seeing the big stuff this month. Whalesharks are out in force (it’s been one of the best seasons ever in 2011), manta have been on many sites and there have even been sightings of mola mola. And just to cap off the special sightings, last week there were orcas around Punta Vicente Roca. That really is the trip of a lifetime.
