About Hurricane

Hurricane stands out in the Egyptian Red Sea - and not just because she is one of the few steel hulled vessels. Many Red Sea liveaboards are compared to Hurricane, but few are as enduringly popular. She has won the prestigious "Liveaboard of the Year" award no less than 5 times (including 2017 & 2016).

We are really pleased for the guides and crew of Hurricane for winning Liveaboard of the Year for the second year running. This is no mean feat and can only be achieved with a vast amount of hard work all around. The season diving wise down south has been an epic one. The food on board is fab, and we never have hungry divers. And she's quick! These are the areas that beat other boats and why Hurricane has picked up such an accolade. Customers keep coming back to this boat for more, and more. And voted for her above all others

At 36m there is bags of space on board Hurricane. No detail was over looked when she was built and she is continually renovated to maintain the highest standards. There are 11 cabins in total spilt over the main and lower deck. The 4 main deck cabins are a mix of twin or double beds (with an additional single bed). The lower deck cabins are all twins apart from the bow cabins, which have a double bed and additional single bed. Cabins are allocated at the time of booking so do ask your travel consultant if you have a specific request. All have individual air con, en suite bathrooms, a fridge and safe box.

You will instantly recognise what has become the Tornado Marine Fleet signature design. The dining and saloon areas are divided to provide optimum comfort at all stages of the trip. Upstairs opens up into the AC saloon with the bar, flat screen and seating area. Outside there is a seated deck (ideal for your post dive tales), the upper sun deck and loungers and jacuzzi. Down on the dive deck extras include an air gun for cameras, high pressure gas bending facilities (including trimix), nitrox compressor and gear storage. The steel hull and low dive platform make Hurricane a stable ride in even the bumpiest of weather and entry and exits are easy. Hurricane has it all - and it is easy to see just why divers fall in love with her.

Main deck twin/double cabin

Hurricane has two main deck cabins that can be both twin or double bed. They are located in the front half of the main deck. These cabins have lovely big rectangular windows facing the ocean. All cabins onboard Hurricane have en suite, air con and safe. There is no surcharge for the main deck cabins.

Not long been in from an awesome dive holiday, a fantastic week made even better by the crew and guides of The Hurricane, they truly work so hard to make your trip memorable, if you dive be sure to book a trip on Hurricane through Scuba Travel, but beware it's not for the faint hearted sharks everywhere, thanks also to my buddies for making this trip you know who you are. Looking forward to doing it all again

Great boat. Aircon worked! Showers hot! Food very good with great veggie dishes. Loved the towel animals in the cabins. Excellent crew. The most attentive I've had in the Red Sea. Always helping to kit up and with fins, clearing dishes and cleaning rooms. Kareem looks after the guests very well and an excellent dive guide. Again, the best guides I've had on any trip.

The boat was very comfortable. There was plenty of room for relaxing. The dive deck had plenty of room for kitting up. A brilliant set of crew. They were always ready for any eventuality being it kitting up or at meal times. They were always ready for a laugh and interacted well with the group. The guides were knowledgeable about the dive sites and the briefings were very comprehensive. Under the water they looked after everyone and pointed out sealife of interest-even if the hammerheads were in the distance.

Excellent boat, plenty of socialising areas, comfortable rooms and general accommodation. Showers were always hot which was lovely. The trip lives and dies on the dive guides and the crew. Approachable, fun, observant and extremely helpful. They knew what you needed before you knew yourself. Lots of laughter with Kareem and Mousa. After being on several liveaboards, these guys topped the leaderboard. Thank you for such a great week!

Excellent, knowledgeable guides and pleasant, hardworking crew. It is good to have Egyptian guides with comprehensive knowledge of the dive sites and area. Food was very good. Catered well for vegetarians. Fresh fruit salad and yogurt at breakfast was appreciated.

The guides and crew, as on all the boats we have been on, are brilliant. The seaman who looked after us during the prep for the dives was exceptional! Food, as always, is good and the crew made sure Alan and his celiac problem was well catered for

Just like to tell everybody at your office what a fantastic time my son and myself had on hurricane last week the trip was fantastic crew were amazing from the sailors to the cooks and everybody that works on the ship also the transfer was spot-on and the choice of hotel that we stayed in on our final day was the best I've stayed in on the last day of a Liveaboard trip. The guy that picked us up from the airport and took us to the hotel was very good as well. Many thanks again and I am sure to be booking with you the next time thanks.

The boat is solid as a rock, which is needed when some of the swells start to kick up. It's clean and tidy and just what is needed when you are away diving for a week. Elphinstone was the highlight of the trip with regards to dive sites. We finished our trip with 2 dives here and were lucky enough to see a hammerhead, grey reef shark, white tip reef shark and 2 oceanic's which came to say hello under the boat. The reef was alive with soft and hard corals with lots of small animals to find hiding in the holes and overhangs. A fantastic way to finish an excellent week of diving. Again; a big thanks to the crew and sailors for helping us get ready and safely to the dive sites. The sea conditions were very challenging and they do a fantastic job!!

This is my third liveaboard trip where I had the pleasure of Yasser as dive guide, the first with Mousa. I would be very pleased for them to be my dive guides on the next Red Sea trip I take, due to their excellent dive briefings, safety consciousness and general good humour. In particular, they did their best to find us the 'big stuff' whilst simultaneously trying to keep a large and varied group safe out in the blue at depths with occasionally very strong current.

This was my second trip on the hurricane, and we returned solely because of the dive guides and crew. I donít think you realise what a total asset the team are that you have working on the hurricane. To have numerous guests wanting to return to the same boat with the same crew, says only one thing. They have a number one team that staff the hurricane. We are already looking to book our next trip on the Hurricane.

My husband And I had numerous problems with our kit I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Yasser and the engineer for all the effort they put into rectifying the problems without them we could not have dived and our holiday would have been spoilt We stayed on the boat last week and went to the resta grande on the last day. This hotel is beautiful so much better than the marina lodge where you previously put us up. The food and the facilities were excellent.

As ever living on the hurricane was a pleasure and privilege to enjoy, the diving is complemented by the ever helpful and attentive crew, one and all - I will return. The crew were exceptional. Every element of the trip met my expectations and the crew worked tirelessly to be sure the safari was enjoyed by all.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for organising the trip for us. We have just got back from Deadalus, Rocky and St. John's and it was the best liveaboard I have ever done. We saw sharks on lots of the dives, hammer heads, oceanics, great reef sharks all on one dive ! The crew were amazing and made our trip so pleasurable. The dive guides Adel and Wahid were fantastic so knowledgable and attentive to all of us. Can't wait to come back in November so thank you to you all.

The boat was spotless, well kept and comfortable. The crew were amazing, they surprised me with a wonderful cake on my birthday which was a fantastic touch to the day. They were incredibly welcoming and the hardest working people I have ever met! The guides led amazing dives and I can't fault them, from finding Hammerheads to lending personal gear, they were incredible.

As always Tornado Fleet and Scuba Travel do everything possible to ensure all guests have enjoyable, safe time. Hurricane is a stable, ideal boat for this itinerary, and I cannot fault anything. Crew were always exceptionally helpful, and our guide Adel is the best guide in the Red Sea without exception. Lovely food, with a great choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. No complaints at all. I will be very happy to bring another group out very soon.
