Komodo Indo Aggressor | Indonesia Liveaboard | Komodo Diving

Resuming operations 22JULY 2022

Komodo is one of Indonesia's most famous islands with the great Komodo Dragon being one if the island's most well known inhabitants. Yet there is so much more to Komodo and divers should certainly take notice of this archipelago. Indonesia is recognised as having one of the most biologically diverse marinescapes and Komodo is certainly no exception. Team this with the Komodo Indo Aggressor, a modern and simply luxurious liveaboard from the world respected Aggressor Fleet, and you have a recipe for your dream diving holiday.

The Komodo Indo Aggressor sleeps only 16 divers which means there is plenty of space for everyone, no matter how much dive kit you bring! Three different cabin options mean you can select the right choice for your budget, but everyone shares the same lavish living space and dive deck. As part of the Aggressor standard, you will be woken up each morning with a coffee in your cabin, warm towels after each dive, a proper sit down dinner each night and refreshing drinks from the bar. Food onboard is international with some local dishes for sampling. Komodo Indo Aggressor is fully equipped for photographers and an onboard computer means you can check your day's efforts.

Komodo Indo Aggressor operates 2 different itineraries so you can visit every inch of this enticing Region. The marine life is hugely varied but always impressive. Focusing on macro life and the joys of muck diving, Komodo specialises in those weird and wonderful critters that can only be found on the black sand. Frogfish, Snake eels, Dragonets, Candy Crabs - these are just a small sample of what lies beneath the aquamarine waves. Seahorses, Nudibranch and no less that 5 types of Octopus then follow. Each dive sees a new strange and rare Beastie. This is macro diving at its zenith but larger fish are not overlooked. The steep walls and drop offs are also home to Whales, Tuna, Sharks, Manta and Dolphin. There is almost nothing you can't find with the Komodo Indo Aggressor.

Covid Information for Komodo Indo Aggressor

INFORMATION PROVIDED BY AGGRESSOR FLEET

Last Updated: 19APR 2022

Each of our destinations that are open stringently follow the local Covid-19 requirements and protocols for our adventures. We also build on these with Clean, Refresh and Sanitize programs. All of our staff undergo frequent temperature checks and health monitoring. While we encourage all of our staff to get a vaccination against Covid-19 when available, it is a very personal choice that we respect. This same standard is applied to our guests that are travelling with us since our first destination reopened in July of 2020.

Protocols for a Suspected Case of COVID-19

Each Aggressor Adventure destination has established a local professional medical support team to advise them should a staff member or guest become ill and develop a fever or other symptoms. Temperatures of staff are taken twice daily. Once onboard, we instruct guests to self-monitor and report to the Captain if they develop a fever or other symptoms. We ask you to be honest and tell us if there have been any changes that could compromise your health or others If fever or other symptoms are detected on board, the destination will contact their local medical support team for a consultation. If possible, transportation is arranged for the patient to visit the medical facility for evaluation. While awaiting transport to be organized, the guest will be asked to self-isolate in their stateroom. If the yacht is further offshore, medical support provides a remote consultation, and the guest will be instructed to self-isolate in their stateroom for the remainder of their trip or until the evacuation is possible. If appropriate, the roommate will move to alternate accommodations. Meals will be brought to the patient's room. Linens are cleaned (in isolation) daily, along with cleaning and sterilizing the room.
The guest will absorb the costs of evacuation and land accommodations and medical services. We highly recommend that you review your travel / medical insurance for coronavirus coverage should this occur. Keep in mind that fever alone is not a suspected Covid-19 case.

Frequently Asked Questions

Location

Indonesia is around 15-20 hours flight from the UK and is made up of around 18 000 islands. It is the largest archipelago in the world straddling the Equator, between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Most travellers will enter Indonesia through Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS) or Manado (MDC) airports. This is the stuff of divers' dreams. This exotic nation is the very definition of bio diversity. Find the big fish in Komodo, Raja Ampat or Kalimantan. Drift lazily along the walls of Bunaken and Wakatobi, watching turtles on coral drenched walls. While away the hours hunting for miniscule macro in Bali, Lembeh or Ambon. Cannot decide? Why not combine two locations into a single trip!

Weather and Climate

Indonesia is a vast country, and the weather can be hugely variable. The topography means that weather patterns can be very localised. This is the tropics! For Bali, Komodo & Wakatobi the weather is usually best from April - November, with July and August being some of the best months to visit. Between December and March the conditions can be a bit stormy. November to April is also the wettest month to visit Bunaken, Lembeh and Kalimantan but to a lesser degree than in other locations. October to April is historically the most popular time to dive in Raja Ampat.

What happens when I arrive?

On arrival in your Indonesia destination, you will need to clear immigration and collect your baggage. You will then be met outside of arrivals by a representative from your liveaboard or resort. Some reps are able to meet you airside. They will be holding a board with either your destination or your name on it. If you have any issues at all locating your rep, please contact us. We have an emergency contact, manned by a member of the team here in the UK. Please call 0044 7747 488 002. We will be able to help your rep locate you in the airport.

Transfers

If you have a hotel en route please follow any specific instructions in your travel documents. Where possible, you will be met by a representative who will assist in taking you to your hotel. If using a shuttle service, please arrange your return shuttle time back to the airport at the hotel check in. Domestic flights are common in Indonesia and run frequently. The major hubs of Jakarta, Bali and Manado all have separate terminals for domestic and international departures. Just follow the signs to move between international and domestic terminals. The service has improved vastly, but there can still be last minute schedule changes. Please ensure you leave plenty of time for check in or transit between flights (usually 4 hours min). Domestic flights can typically only be booked with a 20kgs hold allowance as standard. Excess baggage must be paid for in Indonesian rupiah and costs around $2-$5 per kg per way. Due to local traffic and road conditions, land journey times can be difficult to predict. We recommend you take water with you and keep any essentials in your hand baggage to make your journey as comfortable as possible.

Departures

At the end of your holiday, your return transfer details will be advised locally. As of Feb 2015, the departure tax for all domestic and international flights is built into your flight ticket price.
