About Marina Lodge & Emperor Marsa

If you are looking for an outstanding dive centre and hotel combo for your next Red Sea resort holiday, then look no further! Only a 10 minute transfer from Marsa Alam airport, the Marina Lodge sits in the heart of the impressive Port Ghalib complex and is your gateway to the incredible dive sites of the Southern Red Sea, surrounded by desert along a stretch of unspoilt coastline. The team at Emperor Divers are on hand on site making this a diver's hotel in a prime location at the heart of the Southern Red Sea. Perfect!

Each of the 206 rooms is decorated in a Nubian style and set around their water side location. Rooms overlook the harbour, pool or out to sea, and all have air con, balcony, mini bar and en suite come as standard. There are twin or double rooms and family suites. There are also 2 wheelchair accessible rooms.

The resort has everything you could need on site... not just the dive centre. The main restaurant serves a range of international dishes and there is a pool bar if leaving your spot in the sun seems too difficult! There are 2 swimming pools and a large sun terrace for soaking up the rays. Or why not take a short stroll to the hotel beach. The roof top terrace is a popular hang out at the end of the diving day. The Marina Lodge is a 3* hotel that was designed for divers. The focus here is on the remarkable diving and trading stories at the end of another great day blowing bubbles.

Emperor Divers, Port Ghalib. Excellent and professional service, both in the shop and on the boat. The crew and dive staff have a strong quality focussed way of working and they have the habit to make each day on board a perfect, long remembered, diving experience.

In the last 18 months I have stayed at Marina Lodge on at least five occasions. Three times for a full weeks stay and twice for a night following a "livaboard" In my experience I must say that I have always enjoyed my stay without any problems at all. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful, the food is always good and although I may not always like every thing that is on offer I have never failed to find something that appeals. The rooms are a good size and the grounds well tended by the staff and although I have always been diving during the day understand that there are things to do, and of an evening entertainment is provided. The staff have always greeted me as I go around the complex and have been made to feel most welcome. I will return the again soon as it offers everything for me that I require for a diving holiday and provides excellent value for what it costs.

Good afternoon, Just wanted to give you some feedback on our latest trip to Marina Lodge diving with Emperor Divers. Exceeded our expectation, hotel nice, staff, on the whole, very friendly, food excellent. We had reservations about Emperor Divers as, in the past, we have not been too impressed with what we have seen above and below the water out of Sharm. However, we found the organisation at the Marina Lodge, slick, very well organised, very professionally run, with a friendly, efficient group of staff. The boat that we were on, Empress Rachel, had great and friendly crew, spotlessly clean with excellent food. About the diving, that was lovely, very relaxing, coral pristine, dolphins under the water and the dugong on the surface. What more could we want? Would certainly go again. Many thanks again to the staff your end.

Thank you for organising our trip, it was a case of third time lucky for us this year at Marsa Alam ,we had oceanic's with us the entire dive at Elphinstone (less than a metre away) and after years of thinking they were making it up we finally got to dive with the famous mystical Dugong - it really does exist! Back to reality at work today, planning our next holiday.

Marsa Alam is growing in reputation as one of Egypt's must see diving destinations and feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of home. The diving is endlessly varied and suits divers from complete novice right through to technical guru. A rare dugong spends his days munching sea grass alongside massive turtles and guitar sharks - a phenomenal sighting if your luck is in. Ras Shona combines a seagrass bed, ideal for small critters, with a gorgeous hard coral reef and is real favourite for batfish, crocodile fish and lionfish. Elphinstone will satisfy your thirst for prime wall diving and a fast drift. Oceanic white tips, hammerheads, manta and greys are all seen here seasonally and whenever you visit, the enormous gorgonians and clouds of anthias will impress... these are just a handful of the dive sites you could visit.

  • House Reef at the Marina Lodge hotel beach
  • Fleet of day boats located at Port Ghalib harbour
  • Shore & sprredboat diving options
  • Only 10 minutes from Marsa Alam airport
  • PADI recreational courses

Most dives are made from the fleet of custom built dive boats, harboured in Port Ghalib. Most dive sites are 15-90 mins from the dive centre. Full day or half day trips are are planned everyday to a whole host of sites (local charges apply for special trips). In between relax in the sun, there is always plenty of space for everyone. The fast RIB heads out regularly too to sites such as Elphinstone so you spend more time in the water! Or if you prefer a shore dive, there are several sites along the coastline and a house reef that combine excellent fringing coral reefs with intriguing sea grass beds - ideal to while an hour away.
