Reethi Beach is an eco-friendly, Maldivian island resort situated in Baa Atoll. "Reethi" in the local language means beautiful. Surrounded by inviting blue waters, this friendly resort has been built from natural materials in a typical Maldivian-style and is the backdrop for an exceptional scuba diving holiday.
You have a choice of rooms at Reethi Beach Resort to to suit your taste! The Reethi villas are either detached or semi detached with 1 king size bed and a partly open air bathroom. They are typically set back on the inside of the island. We recommend upgrading to the deluxe villas, which are set amid tropical screening, fringing the white sandy beach. These are a bit larger than the standard villas and have a terrace, Maldivian swing and sun loungers on the beach. The water villas sit on stilts above the clear blue lagoon - these are semi detached villas and the largest room option at the resort. All rooms offer air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, IDD telephone, mini-bar, in-room safe, satellite television, hairdryer, hot and cold water. Please do remember to ask if you require a twin bed set up, rather than a single double bed.
You can choose a meal package to suit you at Reethi Beach, ranging from B&B all the way to their all inclusive premium package. There are five restaurants, including the main buffet, a-la carte grill (with pizza oven!) and snack bars. There are several bars dotted all around, poolside and beachfront. The Spa and wellness retreat offer a range of services to pamper yourself with, and with a wide variety of private and group excursions available you can explore the untouched beauty of Baa Atoll and the rich culture of its inhabitants. The water sports centre is one of best we have seen. Make sure you leave time to take the dolphin excursions, offered on a jet ski! The Maldives is in the Indian Ocean, a 10-14hr flight from the UK, around 370 miles southwest of Sri Lanka. It is made up of 1200 islands, stretching over 500 miles from north to south. The main arrival airport for all flights to the Maldives is Male's airport island (MLE). The Maldives is famous for its great snorkelling, manta cleaning stations, whalesharks, shark dives and fast drift dives through channels. The water remains a constant 27-28 C year round.
Whilst there are 2 monsoon seasons (Nov-Apr & May-Oct), the diving remains excellent year round. Diving operators will changes their dive sites in each season to find the best hot spots for the big fish! Traditionally, our summer months tend to be windier with a higher chance of rain, whilst the winter months are flatter. However, the seasons are much less predictable in reality and its a fabulous place to dive whatever time of year!

The choice is yours! As we are able to book most major airlines to the Maldives, you can also add a stop to break up your flight. Popular locations include Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi.

Reethi Beach resort operates a PADI 5 star centre managed by Sea-Explorer and is located onsite. With access to around 60 different sites in shallow reefs, the outer reef, atoll reefs and house reefs, many reached within a 20 to 30-minute boat journey from Reethi Beach, it is easy to see why divers come back to Reethi Beach year after year.
With a range of PADI and SSI courses available at the dive centre you can also take your first breathes underwater or improve your diving skills during your stay.
The house reef lies on a channel and stretches out along the west side of the island as a 30 m drop off wall. On the east side, there is a vast Thundi (sand lagoon) with interesting coral blocks and some nice artificial surprises. The diversity and wealth of fish life make the house reef at Reethi Beach a firm favourite with repeat customers.
Depending on the season you will encounter various marine life on Baa Atoll and the surrounding area. Manta season is during the north-west monsoon (June - November) and it is very rare to not see these majestic creatures during a weeks holiday at the resort. Between August and September whalesharks are commonly spotted as a plankton boom lures them into the area. Throughout December to May the water is clearer with south-east monsoon producing stronger currents. This in turn produces better conditions for sharks and increased visibility shows off the soft and vibrant reefs in all their glory.
If you pre-book your diving as part of a holiday package with Scuba Travel you can take advantage of our special rates and make considerable savings on your dive package or dive course at Reethi Beach Resort.
