Frequently Asked Questions

Cancun is around 11 hours flying time direct from London. Los Cabos is around 18-20hours indirect flying time. Mexico's Carribbean coastline is famous for the cenotes dives. Cozumel's rich drift dives and the whalesharks of Isla Mujeres. On the Pacific coast, the remote locations mean pelagics. The diving on this side is more advanced, more rugged and action packed.

Weather and Climate

Both the east and west coasts of Mexico enjoy a warm climate. It's a brilliant place for winter sun! For the Caribbean coastline, you can expect more rain over our summer months, but this tends to be in the evenings. It can be stormier between July - September and humidity higher. Los Cabos is more arid, with a year round average air temp of around 25-28 degrees.

Flight options

There are direct flights from London to Cancun with BA, Thomson or Virgin. If you are travelling to the Pacific coastline Los Cabos, then you will usually find your flight requires a stop en route. Aero Mexico, United and Delta airlines generally offer the fastest routings. You must have a valid ESTA before travel or transit through the USA. We are able to book most major airlines. If you have a specific airline you prefer to fly with, simply let us know in your booking request. A supplement may apply for regional departures. Times and any applicable supplements will be confirmed by your travel consultant before you finalise your holiday. If you wish to make your own flight arrangements to either Cancun or Los Cabos, let us know and we can remove the cost of the international flights from your quote. We are unfortunately not able to redeem airmiles on your behalf. Please do not confirm any flight arrangements yourself before your holiday is confirmed by us.

Allegro Playacar & Pro Dive Mexico

The main star of the diving around Playa Del Carmen is undoubtedly the cenotes. These sinkholes are unique to the Yucatan and are easy dives for all experience levels. But there is so much more to discover and with the Pro Dive Mexico team, you are in safe hands!

Pro Dive Mexico are a multinational team who have the experience you need to make your diving holiday in Mexico a success. They can teach all PADI courses right through from your first try dive up to Divemaster... and beyond.

  • 5 star PADI IDC centre
  • Guided cenotes dives
  • Daily boat reef diving
  • Free nitrox
  • Dive Cozumel with Pro Dive too!

Mexico's cenotes are cave dives with a difference - many are bight, spacious environments and divers do not need special training. All cenotes dives are carefully guided and technical caves can be dived (please discuss this at the time of booking). Dos Ojos and Chac Mol are must do dives! But in addition to the famous cenotes there are great reef and wreck dives on your door step. The Mama Vina wreck sits at 30m and has become a popular artificial reef with divers. There are gentle reef dives for less experienced divers or head to Turtle reef, where pelagic fish and turtles await. Between December and March you can dive with bull sharks from Playa del Carmen - please talk to one of our consultants if you would like more information.
