Quayside Hotel - B&B
4* Waterfront hotel
This is an incredible two resort trip where you will start with 3 nights near Cape Town cage diving, and then moving up to the coast of Umkomaas for 4 nights and reef diving with a baited shark diving experience. Cape Town - Part One. The "Mother City" of South Africa is also the seasonal home to the "Big Daddy" of sharks - the Great White. Seal Island, centred in the vast waters of False Bay, is a breeding ground of the playful Cape fur seal, a staple meal for the stealthy White Shark, that powers up from the depths like a massive rocket, often fully "breaching" the surface in a spectacular display of beauty and power.. Diving around Cape Town is also very good, and includes kelp diving to see the rare 7-Gill Cow shark, the ever playful seals, wrecks and "Big Blue" dives to view the open ocean Mako and Blue sharks. The waters can be cold, but top quality equipment rental is included to ensure comfort levels are at their best. And don't forget the iconic Table Mountain, the shopping mecca of the V&A Waterfront, the white sand beaches, the cuisine and the winelands of Franshoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch.. Simonstown - Quayside Hotel - 3 Nights B&B. You will spend three nights B&B in this 4 Star waterfront hotel which overlooks the Simonstown yacht basin, and is surrounded by shops, restaurants and pubs, all within easy walking distance. Rooms are modern, comfortable and nautically themed, with mountain and sea views, and all are en-suite, with air-con, satellite TV's, mini-bar, tea/coffee and access to wifi.. Breakfasts are served overlooking the ocean from the Upper Deck Restaurant.. Aliwal Shoal - Part Two. Rated consistently as one of the world's "Top 10" dive sites, Aliwal Shoal lies off the coast of Umkomaas, a sleepy little town on the East coast, only a 40 minute drive south of the King Shaka International Airport of Durban. An adventurous river mouth and surf launch takes you out to, arguably South Africa's "shark capital" diving area. Just off the Southern reef sections and all-year-round are where the baited dives take place, attracting dozens of Black Tips and the majestic Tiger. The reef inhabitants include the large Brindle and Potato Bass, Bull, Hammerhead, Dusky, Guitar and White Tip sharks, a variety of rays and eels, schools of tropical species, beautiful leafy scorpion fish and many turtles.. The topography is fascinating, with giant potholes, towering spires, caves, overhangs, walls and sand ripple sections making up an incredible underwater labyrinth.. Blue Ocean Dive Resort - 4 Nights B&B The hotel is an icon within the small seaside village of Umkomaas. Built in 1934, it has been restored to its original colonial glory, with a large ballroom restaurant, outside covered deck with grill and pub, and of course the on-site dive centre. Rooms are offered on the ground and first floors, and are all en-suite and comfortably furnished. Breakfast are served buffet style from the covered deck, where additional midday and evening meals can also be enjoyed. Overlooking the ocean and the golf course, Blue Ocean is also perfectly situated for easy exploring of Umkomaas, its quaint shops, restaurants and pubs.. You have 6 reef dives over three days, where you can trade one in to take part in a baited shark dive, which again is an amazing experience and a must do when visiting the area. All flights, diving (mentioned) and transfers are included.
