Cyclone has long been a favourite with UK divers for exploring the magnificent wrecks and lavish reefs of the Egyptian Red Sea. Winning "Liveaboard of the Year" in 2003, Cyclone has undergone several upgrades over the years, keeping her up to the same exceptional standards as the rest of the fleet. Designed by divers and expertly crewed, Cyclone retains a welcoming atmosphere and it this that draws divers back to her year after year for their hard earned Red Sea holiday.

Cyclone is 32m from bow to stern and her sturdy wood hull is a stable home away from home. 20 divers can be easily accommodated over 10 twin cabins. For your complete comfort, all of the cabins are en suite, have individual air con and plenty of space to stow your belongings for the week. There are 2 twin cabins on the main deck, 6 twin cabins below decks and 2 bow cabins which have bunks. All cabins are pre-allocated at the time of booking.

Cyclone features the tried and tested lay out of all Tornado Marine Fleet vessels. The all important dive deck is spaciously laid out so everyone can kit up without fighting for space. Head to the main deck dining room at meal times and an outstanding feast awaits. The upstairs saloon is complete with bar and plasma screen is a focal point at the end of the day or during surface intervals. Or escape from it all on extensive sun deck, complete with sun beds and jacuzzi. Cyclone is a true Red Sea classic liveaboard that easily meets the high standards of Scuba Travel's modern Red Sea liveaboards.

Itinerary Details

Find your inner peace with Scuba Travel's unique Red Sea Relaxed itinerary. Combine diving, snorkelling, yoga and freediving with our on board expert Emma Farrell - do as much or as little as you like!

Red Sea Relaxed Description

Not all dive holidays are restful! That's why we created the Red Sea Relaxed itinerary, a very rewarding, but more relaxing alternative to the more usual scuba diving itinerary. Do as much or as little as you like! Enjoy a mix of on board activities: diving, snorkelling, yoga and freediving. Achieve mindfulness in the sunshine and scenery in the stunning Red Sea. Take advantage of the open dive deck policy, visiting fewer locations over the week, for a Red Sea liveaboard with less rushing about. This is your holiday done your way.

On board yoga
Freediving and yoga guru Emma Farrell will be on hand throughout the trip, running yoga sessions and try freediving sessions for all! Take a break from the heavy kit and tanks to experience the deep relaxation practice of yoga nidra with Emma. It doesn't matter what age or size you are, if you can't touch your toes, smoke, or have no prior experience of yoga. The sessions are tailored for complete beginners as well as those more familiar with yoga poses. All yoga equipment is provided as well on board the boat so all you need to bring are some comfy clothes to wear such as a t-shirt and jogging bottoms or a pair of pyjamas.

The yoga that Emma teaches on board is perfect for scuba divers and freedivers as there are lots of stretches and exercises to help with breathing and gas consumption. Emma will take you through very gentle movements and poses and there are always modifications for those with injuries or limited mobility.  The yoga takes place first thing in the morning before the first dive of the day and you can come to as much or as little of it as you want.

Yoga nidra is the easiest yoga to do and the most relaxed as it is done lying down, under the stars! Yoga nidra is Sanskrit for ‘yoga sleep’ and is a profound state of relaxation where one is in a state of conscious sleep. Half an hour of yoga nidra is said to be the equivalent of three hours sleep due to the changes in brain wave activity.

The session is done after dinner and the night dives. You take your duvet and pillows up to the top deck, lie down on the couches or a yoga mat and let Emma's voice send you to a place of deep relaxation. It's the most incredible way to wind down at the end of the day and we guarantee that you will never have experienced anything else this relaxing before in your life!

Diving highlights
The Northern Red Sea fish count is huge, particularly in the areas of Ras Mohammed and Tiran, with large schools of fish from the Batfish and Snappers at Shark Reef and clouds of Anthias and smaller schooling fish up in Tiran, but you will see more abundance of marine life everywhere with wrecks like the Thistlegorm covered in swarms of Fusiliers being chased by Trevallies with languid Batfish hanging out in the blue.

Some sites during the week will be "open deck". The Barge, Jackson and the Thistlegorm have been some of a favoe sites in 2016. Once you're initially briefed we stay for the day or longer and you can dive whenever you want. From about 0530 until 1930, the pool's open! The timings are up to you and your buddy. You can also choose to dive longer than the usual 60 mins bearing in mind that you'll need to tell the guides what you're planning so they can help your day run smoothly. Opt for two lazy long shallow day dives or the full 4. It's up to you. The guides are available throughout for guided dives. Or time things cleverly and you may well end up getting the dive site to yourself, or at least not be in the same places as the other divers.

Want total dive freedom? With the relevant Solo or Self Reliant qualifications and kit, Tornado Marine will allow you to dive alone at these sites.

Daily presentations
Emma will be giving a range of presentations throughout the week covering a wide range of topics - all chosen to help you get into a more mindful place. Re-energise and learn from the pro tips and tricks to make your air consumption last longer, practice meditation or how to get closer to dolphins without needing scuba!
