Carpe Vita is a well loved and popular liveaboard with divers and snorkelers, combing great value with on board expertise. At a generous 38m of living space, 20 guests can enjoy the best the Maldives has to offer with a crew that really know how to make your holiday magical. See for yourself the attention to detail that makes Carpe Vita stand out. There are 10 cabins split over 3 decks. All cabins are en-suite, have individual AC, a safe and TV. There are 6 standard cabins, which are below decks. The cabin arrangements are flexible, with a queen size double as well as a single bed. If you prefer to be above decks, there are 2 superior suites on the main deck with double bed. Large windows flood the cabins in light - enjoy the views between the Maldivian atolls. And if you fancy something extra special, why not treat yourself to one of the 2 upgraded suites. These feature a king size double or twin beds, extensive views, and of course extra space - 2 closets and a desk area as well as bath tub and shower. As all of the diving takes place on the dedicated dive dhoni (tender boat), the space on board Carpe Vita is incredible. On the main deck you will find a large lounge area. Help yourself to tea, coffee, soft drinks and dispensed water throughout the day. There is a wide screen TV and audio system with an area set aside for charging camera batteries. All meals are served al fresco on board. Tuck into the fine food prepared by the on board chef. The fly deck is expansive, with a covered area, jacuzzi as well as a sun loungers. Or relax while you watch for dolphins at the fore deck sitting area. Please be aware, Open Water certification (or equivalent) divers are welcome on board. However, due to the nature of the diving in the Maldives, you will be required to complete the Advanced Open Water certification on board (local charges apply). Carpe Vita offer 3 dives a day with soft drinks and alcohol available to purchase on board. Recreational nitrox mixes will be free of charge for all certified divers as of May 2019. If you require a PCR test to return to the UK: Carpe Fleet can organise this for you with a hospital in Hulhumale at the end of your trip when the boat returns to port. Results can be obtained within 6 hours or 12 hours. Once you check in on board, please indicate to the crew you will need PCR test and give a copy of your passport to them after which they will coordinate with our office to get the appointments made. Carpe Fleet can not organise PCR tests outside Male or during trips down South. Therefore we strongly advise to have at least a min of 6 to 12 hours between landing from your domestic flight back in Male and your international flight departure. Cost PCR: 90 USD for 12 hours and 180 USD for 6 hours to be paid on board end of the trip.

The Best of the Maldives does just what it says - manta, whalesharks, sharks, turtles, channel dives, thilas... and so much more! Best of the Maldives remains one of our most popular Maldives itineraries for a reason.
The Best of the Maldives does just what it says on the tin - you dive the best and most famous dive sites of the Maldives in a single week of sublime liveaboard diving across Male and Ari atolls. This is a dive holiday in the Maldives to remember that hits all the seasonal hot spots of North Male, South Male and Ari Atoll. Dive the many channels, drifts and pinnacles, encountering the manta, whalesharks and reef residents as you go. The exact order of things is left deliberately flexible to ensure that no matter what time of year your holiday to the Maldives is, the breathtaking world underwater is unveiled in all its perfection.
Scuba Travel's Best of the Maldives itinerary aims to mix up big fish manta and shark dives with scenic reefs dives, hunting out the smallest reef fish, morays and macro life that are so abundant. Due to seasonal nature of the marine life, the exact dive sites visited on a Best of the Maldives trip may vary, but are all chosen by each of our liveaboards so you see the Maldives marine life at it's most exciting. All will usually dive North Male, South Male, South Ari and North Ari dive sites, and may stop at one (or both) of Vaavuu and Rasdhoo atolls. Cleaning stations allow you to get up close and personal with massive Maldivian manta, and dives at Manta Point, Dhonkalo Thila and Madivaru provide just such opportunities. Kandhooma thila and Medu Faru are hopt spots for eagle rays. Maaya Thila is one of the best known dive sites in the Maldives and for a good reason. This pinnacle is about 30m diameter that descends to reveal sharks and fish a plenty. Night diving here is hard to beat and should not be missed. Log yet more pelagic sightings as grey reef sharks patrol the north and south ari Atoll area. Radhiga thila, Maalhos thila and Hafsa thila are just some of the stand out dives in this area. The boat will also take some time out along the route to look for whalesharks you can snorkel with - grab your fins as these gentle giants can move fast! Maamagili Beyru is one of the best places to see whalesharks on this itinerary.
The Best of the Maldives is an ideal itinerary for any first time visitor to the Maldives. Divers should be comfortable with drift diving but no minimum no of dives is required. Many of the dives on the Best of Maldives itinerary is suitable for all levels of divers, however, unpredictable and strong currents are to be expected in certain areas. Inexperienced and beginner divers may find some dives challenging and may be asked by the Cruise Director to skip dives that are not suitable for their diving experience. On some dives the recommended depth is below 18m therefore advanced or Deep Diver training is advised. Carpe Fleet require an AOW certification. All diving is made from dhonis to give precision entry and exits points. Night diving is limited to sheltered moorings but well worth jumping in for. With so many excellent and remarkable sites in and around North - South Male Atolls and the Ari Atolls, the Best of the Maldives is a route that can be dived time and time again. Surely no one can tire of the jaw dropping diversity and life on display. From the tiny creatures that thrill macro lovers to the elegant and inspiring big fish, there more than enough to keep you coming back for more.
