Think of a liveaboard to Cocos and you will probably think of the Undersea Hunter fleet. Sea Hunter sleeps a total of 20 guests and was completely remodelled in 2011 to create 2 double suites on the upper deck with private TV. The remaining cabins are twin or double beds and all are en suite. Cabins have plenty of storage and AC to keep you cool. The main deck is where the real action takes place though. Here you will find the massive dive deck, with a dedicated area for camera charging and set ups. The lounge is spacious as is the sun deck upstairs, where you will also find the BBQ - perfect at the end of a cruise to celebrate the trip of a lifetime! The crew work tirelessly throughout the boat to ensure your experience on board is as perfect as it could be, from the 5 star dining to the warm towels on the dive deck.
The diving is what draws people to Cocos and it will not disappoint. Most diving is done from one of the 3 tender vessels. 2 of these are heavy bottomed and purposefully designed to carry everyone's dive kit without crowding. There are never more than 9 divers in each vessel. Let the experienced skiff hands drop you in exactly the right place each and every time! Nitrox is free of charge too on board so you can really maximise your time at depth playing with hammerheads, rays and Galapagos sharks to name but a few of the sights. Cocos is a place that many divers aspire to visit... and one look over a typical week's diving soon reveals why this faraway dot on the horizon calls to divers. If you love big fish encounters and plenty of drift diving, then Cocos is undoubtedly the place for you. With everyone safely on board and the kit stowed, the overnight sail to Cocos can commence. The island itself is approximately 35 hours steaming from the jetty so you can sit back and enjoy the magnificent vista as Cocos Island creeps into view. Laying anchor, the diving begins in earnest. Sharks, rays, turtles, tuna and barracuda all throng around the island, feeding and cleaning on the steep reef walls. The giant swarms of hammerheads are perhaps the most famous inhabitants of Cocos' waters but there are also white tips, silver tips, Galapagos sharks. Manta, mobula, marble and eagle rays swoop in, feasting on the rich plankton upwelling from the deep. The occasional curious sailfish stops by, often on the safety stop, in between chasing their prey in the blue waters. Bajo Alcyone is one of the area's most famous dives yet this is only one of the hotspots that should not be missed. Dirty Rock and Manuelita are both frequented by hammerheads so there are plenty of chances to catch the daily action. Silverado, Shark Fin Rock and Punta Maria are all unmissable, each promising a different glimpse of Cocos' thriving ecology. As the daily itinerary changes to get you to the real highlights all year round, you are certain to log more than enough sightings to talk about on the return journey to harbour.
The Cocos Expedition is an advanced itinerary for divers with some experience of drift diving. Suited to anyone with an adventurous spirit, the island is remote and 2 days sailing from the nearest hyperbaric chamber so divers are asked to be conservative - there is plenty of time to see it all! Photographers are always welcome on board so don't forget your camera. Cocos ranks as one of the top dive destinations worldwide and needs to be seen to be believed. Few other locations can offer the same heady mixture of adrenalin, comfort and jaw dropping encounters. Accessible only by liveaboard, why not reserve your space on what will be one of the most memorable dive trips undertaken.
Please note: as of April 2018 the Cocos Island National Park Department does not allow night dives, snorkeling and kayaking at the island for safety reasons.

Dive the remote pelagic playground Cocos with the experienced Sea Hunter crew! Your trip of a lifetime starts as you arrive at Cocos Island (approx 30-36 hours). Here you will enjoy 3 exciting dives a day. Your liveaboard package is based on a twin share cabin (full board including soft drinks). All trips are fully guided and include 12lt tank, weights and free nitrox. During the trip an excursion will be made to the island. The Cocos Marine Park fees $554 must be prepaid and will be added to your holiday before travel. On board there is a mandatory search & recovery charge of $35, along with additional drinks, kit hire, souvenirs and tipping. As of 11th July 2022, a $200pp fuel surcharge will be payable on board. Transfer in San Jose are included from the list of approved hotels. There is a departure tax on leaving Costa Rica (approx $35). This holiday excludes international flights to San Jose Costa Rica (SJO). We strongly recommend you add a night in Costa Rica before and possibly after your liveaboard, depending on your flight times. These can be added to your booking, with a wide range of airlines, including regional departures. Please ask your consultant for competitive quote. Do not book any flights until your boat space is confirmed by Scuba Travel. Do be aware that if your flight routes through the USA you must have an ESTA prior to travel.
