Ghazala Explorer is part of the Ocean Tribe Liveaboard Fleet and is one of the newest liveaboard yachts in the Red Sea built in 2021. We are excited to work with this modern boat and her hardworking crew. Departing from Hurghada the Ghazala Explorer offers both Northern and Southern itineraries. Combined with Scuba Travels ATOL bonding and the possibility of regional UK departures, it really is a superb choice.

Ghazala has 12 cabins, including three suites. On the lower deck there are 5 twin bed cabins and he majestic king suite stretches across the width of the boat. Make your way up to the upper deck and you'll find 4 upper deck twin cabins and new for 2023 two lovely twin or double suites. All cabins are air-conditioned and with en-suite bathrooms, all are furnished with a towel and dressing gowns for your use on board. A refillable water bottle will be given to you to use during your stay and to keep when you go back home. If you want to request a cabin just request it at the time of booking.

One of the first things you will notice walking on board the Ghazala Explorer is how wide she is. This width gives you extra space not just inside the boat but most importantly, on the dive deck and dive platform too.

Inside the Ghazala Explorer is bright and airy with a modern decor. The saloon and dining area are very spacious and a natural place to hang out between dives. If sitting inside is not your style then there is a bar area with music on the upper deck, and if you head further up to the top deck you find enough seating and tables for outdoor lunches and dinners. There are tea and coffee making facilities on the upper and top deck. On the upper deck you will find sun loungers and beanbags.

Three tasty and well-planned meals served through the day, served buffet style. Most food allergies are taken into consideration in meal planning and preparation. Please inform us about any potential allergies you may have. You can find plenty of outdoor seating with 4 separate areas on the upper deck and fly deck for relaxing. It's time to switch off, relax catch some rays or enjoy the view out to sea.

The saloon leads onto a large, well appointed dive deck where everyone can gear up in comfort, with a charging station, camera table and rinse tanks too. There are typically 3 dive guides on board with a ratio of 1:8 divers in a group. Air and recreational nitrox (free of charge for 2023). Diving from the zodiacs? You will love the zodiac ladders! Please book any specialist tanks, gas fills or PADI courses in advance. Rebreather diving is not available

The temperature in summer can be high; it is recommended to bring hats, sunglasses and sunscreens (environment-friendly products are advised). Nights could be cold during winter; beanies and warm clothes are highly recommended

High Season (May to November):

Water temperatures are comfortable, ranging from 22C in March to 31C in September (especially in the far south).

Low season (December to February): Cooler water, quieter dive sites.
Mid-summer (July to August): Heat prevails but out on a liveaboard there is always a nice sea breeze.

Itinerary Details

Dive the Thistlegorm, Giannis D, Carnatic, Rosalie Moller, Kingston, Ulysses, Dunraven on this dedicated wreck Red Sea liveaboard itinerary

Get Wrecked Description

Get Wrecked is certain to satisfy any diver interested in wreck diving in the Red Sea. With so many wrecks here in the UK, we are a tough bunch of divers to please. Yet the astounding quality and scope of wrecks in the Northern Red Sea will not leave you disappointed. Shipping down through Suez, the narrow slip of sea that separates Hurgada and the Sinai is peppered with islands and reef tips that have been the downfall of many a captain. But these maritime mishaps have left a legacy that serves up the most fascinating and enjoyable warm water wreck dives you could hope to experience.

After a quick check dive, Get Wrecked leaves no scrap unturned. Abu Nuhas is known locally as ship graveyard. It is home to the oldest wreck in the region, the Carnatic. The photogenic iron ribs show off 19th century workmanship, whilst the Giannis D, lying only a short RIB ride away, is iron clad 20th century beast. The enormous engine room lends itself to an easy penetration dive. The tile wreck, or Chrisoula K, completes the trio. Gubal is where you will find another 3 wrecks, each very different from the last. The Ulysses, Barge and atmospheric Rosalie Moller surround small Gubal. Moving closer to Sharm el Sheikh is the Kingston, a small 19th century coal barge. And then there is the Thistlegorm. Rediscovered by Jacques Cousteau, the Thistlegorm lies beneath the waves, a monument to Second World War. Her strange army cargo is testament to the forces fighting in Africa. The Dunraven finishes the week with a flourish. Get Wrecked is a week for wreck lovers, but that does not mean you can forget the fish. For every year underwater, the wrecks submit further to the reef. Scorpion fish, nudibranch's and crocodile fish can be found on almost every wreck. Old dames such as the Carnatic are a haven for fish of all shapes and sizes. Turtles have made their homes on the Kingston, Ulysses and Thistlegorm. Great pods of bottlenose dolphin are frequently spotted around Gubal and Abu Nuhas. Batfish hover under the upturned bow of the Dunraven as cleaner wrasses set to work. Tuna and snapper weave between the railing of the Rosalie Moller. Yes, there is certainly more than metal on this tour.

Get Wrecked is open to all experience levels and many wrecks can even be seen from the surface, thanks to the fabulous visibility. Photographers, dust of that wide angle lens. Almost all of the wrecks lie in locations sheltered from the currents flowing down the Red Sea. Diving is done from both the boat and RIB. By focusing solely on the wrecks of the region, you get more dive time to probe each wrecks secrets further. Get Wrecked is sure to get even the most ardent wreck diver's attention. Be it the rich history or the myriad of artifacts that can be found, each and every wreck in the Northern Red Sea offers up something special. And with a whole week dedicated to their exploration, Get Wrecked is the fix every diver is looking for.
