Scuba divers in the know holiday in the Bahamas and one look at this alluring island reveals just what makes it such a popular Caribbean dive destination. Where else can you dive a Blue Hole one moment only to be followed by an adrenalin pumping shark dive or pristine reef dive next! Or perhaps it is the promise of pirates, treasure and refreshing rum cocktails that brings you to these dazzling blue shores. Scuba Travel have teamed up with Aquacat for a your diving satisfaction. As your liveaboard home for the week, you can not only escape the island tourists but journey into the Exumas national park, where no other daily divers venture. See for yourself a side of the Bahamas that few other scuba divers will experience on a liveaboard holiday in the Caribbean that is head and shoulders above the rest.
Aquacat was built for your cruising comfort. Her steel hull and wide beam makes light work of the journies between dive sites. She sleeps 22 divers across 11 cabins, all with air con, en suite and hair dryer. Cabins are large by any liveaboard standards. 4 cabins are standard twin beds but can also accommodate a third person with a fold down bed (ideal for families with a younger member!) 4 further cabins can be arranged as either twin beds or 1 king bed. 2 cabins have a queen double bed with a separate single bed. And the final cabin has two twin beds with a skylight instead of porthole. Please do specify at the time of booking your preference.
The cabins are not the only area with ample space for relaxing - the salon has plenty of seating for everyone, TV, DVD, a video editing area and photo light table. The dining area is always a hub point, with freshly prepared international and Bahamian dishes served up daily. The al fresco deck is where your first night's welcome BBQ takes place and a great place to relax with fellow divers during your trip. Between dives hop up to the sun deck to catch some rays or relax with a drink at the end of the day. Aquacat even has an on board micro brewery with 3 local beers to try! But it is the dive deck where the real action takes place and there is room to gear up without worrying about elbows! A photo station will suit photographers and videographers alike.

The Bahamas Discovery itinerary really gets away from the ranges of day divers into the pristine Exumas national park in the Bahamas. If you have yet to discover what draws divers each year to this part of the Caribbean, then this make this your next scuba diving holiday! The diving is diverse with thrilling drop offs and blue holes, fast drifts and pelagic encounters to scenic dives around the myriad of cays and coral blocks. Fall in love with the Bahamas as you sail between the hundreds of islands and cays, soaking up the atmosphere under an endless blue sky. White sands await on the uninhabited beaches. Or just sit back and enjoy the tales of pirates and treasure that sailed the waters before you.
No two weeks are ever quite the same on the Bahamas Discovery - there are over 365 islands around Nassau and Exumas so there is always somewhere fresh and exciting to dive. The Exumas national park is an unmissable gem though and as a protected area, the marine life and coral growth is second to none. Reef sharks, lemon sharks and even hammerheads are found on the wall dives. And what drop offs they are! Eagle rays can often be seen, swooshing off along a sponge drenched wall. Blue Holes are quite special to dive and there are few thrills underwater that can compare to hovering over a seemingly bottomless abyss. Around the coral gardens and blocks you will find enormous grouper, waiting patiently to be cleaned next to a great barrel sponge or elephant ear. Huge swathes of angel fish, sergeant majors and jacks cloud the water whilst jawfish and garden eels hide on the sandy slopes. No matter where you dive, the colours are vibrant and warm water beckons you in.
The Bahamas Discovery will suit anyone looking to escape from the world. Relax on aboard as you take in the beauty of this Caribbean paradise. New divers or old will love the range of dives. Although some sites do experience strong currents, the majority of the diving will suit all experience levels. Looking for a thrill? Then jump in on one of the weekly shark dives for an experience you will never forget. Non divers are also welcome with plenty of opportunities to snorkel. In between dives you can go ashore to walk the sun drenched beaches or grab a kayak to explore. The Bahamas and the remote Exumas are the ideal Caribbean dive holiday for all levels of diver and on Aquacat you are certain to be spoilt. There are up to 5 dives a day (excluding first and last) plus several shore excursions on each trip. You have 7 nights on a full board basis in an ocean view double (twin/double share cabin) - triple and quad cabin available for a reduced cost. Full board includes meals, snacks, all soft drinks and a selection of local beers, wine and rum drinks. All trips are fully guided with expert guides, 12lt tanks, air fills and weights. Make sure you bring proper shoes to explore some of the islands too! To pay on board are the local park fees, government tax and VAT, currently $360 for 2025, nitrox $150 for the week, fuel surcharge additional kit hire, any on board souvenirs and the departure tax leaving the Bahamas (approx $30). Dinner on the Friday night in not included. Return airport transfers are included.
This holiday excludes international flights to Nassau international airport NAS. We are able to add flights with a wide range of airlines, including regional departures. Please ask your consultant for competitive quote for any flight option. Transfers in Nassau are not included but can be arranged for 18.00 per person per pick up.
