Red Sea Relaxed Photo FINish Description
Great photos cannot be rushed. Taking your time can make all the difference when it comes to great images. And that's the reason our pro photographers like to repeat dive sites. Photographers can go at their own pace on a photography itinerary that is as relaxing as it is productive. Welcome to the world of the Red Sea Relaxed PhotoFINish.
Open dive deck
Dive sites are carefully chosen not only for great subjects you will encounter underwater, but also for the chance to open up the dive deck. At least once a day, the usual schedule is thrown out the window! tTime for total freedom with your camera. Opt for two lazy long shallow day dives or the full 4. It's up to you. We simply ask that you follow the site briefings, stick to the safe diving practices and procedures and follow the boat's system for buddying up and co-ordinating divers.
The day is usually split into a morning and/or afternoon session. This mean we can make sure you still get a tasty (and warm) breakfast, lunch and dinner. Morning sessions typically run from 05:30 - 12:00 and afternoon sessions from 13:00-19:00.
Photo workshop and diving highlights
The photo workshop is open to divers of all experience levels with a camera. Underwater photography should be fun as well as rewarding. The workshop will help you improve your photos in a relaxing and non competitive environment. During the trip there will be a number of evening presentations, covering a varied range of topic, from the basics , such as camera settings and getting the correct exposure , composition and subject selection to different lighting techniques and even photo editing software and much more. Some evenings there are photo critiques - guests show some of their best images and the group can discuss - its' not compulsory but is a great way to improve your photography. There will also be opportunities throughout the trip to have some 1:1 help, either on the boat between dives or in the water.
The Red Sea has all manner of fabulous marine life to photograph and as such the workshop will cover both wide angle and macro techniques. You don't need to have separate lens options, but if you can add either a wide angle or macro lens, you will get a lot of use out of them.
If you like your photo subjects to be big, grab your camera and get ready for dolphins at Shaab el urg. Splend sea fans adorn the walls of Jackson, Gordon and Shark & Yolanda. Maybe improve your wreck photos at the Thislegorm,. World war 2 artefacts and atmospheric lighting make for powerful photos. Or photograph the wrecks of the Carnatic and Giannis D Fish portraits are the order of the day at the barge. Giant morays, cardinal fish and scorpion fish as well as Lemon Gobies and much more, Zoom in on the sea fans for cute long nose hawfish or can you get that picture perfect shot of the red anemone and clownfish at Jackson. How about capturing the sunrays or a diver silhouette at Jackfish Alley?
