Dates: 02 Feb 2020 - 09 Feb 2020

Whirlwind | Wrecks and Reefs

Our photographer Says...I am excited to be on board for our first trip back to Sharm for this classic itinerary! I cannot wait to spend time in Tiran - Jackson is still one of my favourite reef dives - and of course Ras Mohammed and the Thistlegorm. The sites are lovely and quiet at this time of year, and the trip is the ideal way to kick off your diving year MORE

Dates: 24 Apr 2020 - 03 May 2020

Socorro Vortex | Giant Mantas of Socorro

Our photographer Says...Manta diving in Socorro is special, first, because the rays seem as keen on encounters as us. These giant oceanic mantas come right up to you and stare you in the eyes. You make a connection and this makes for an incredibly rewarding experience. Add to this the remoteness of the place, the size and black colour of the mantas and the vibrant orange Clarion angelfish cleaners and you have an intoxicating mix. I am excited to be going back, especially with just a small group of photographers on the fabulous new liveaboard the Socorro Vortex. MORE

Dates: 10 May 2020 - 21 May 2020

Atmosphere Resort | Master Macro with Martyn

Our photographer Says...I cant wait to go back to Dumaguete. A really well run resort and dive staff that know intimately what subject is hot and where to find them. For our first dive we were advised that Frogfish were in abundance and boy they were not exaggerating! An hour later and we had literally filled our boots with subjects ranging from a tiny pink example to hairy, painted and warty frogfish. One of the guys found 21 frogfish in an hours dive! The trip in early May should guarantee similar opportunities. The trip will enable attendees to brush up on and learn new macro skills, including various lighting techniques, snooting and super macro as well as hopefully compile a collection of turtle images. With hands on instruction through group image reviews and evening presentations as well as underwater instruction for those needing it everyone will have the opportunity to return with a great portfolio. MORE

Dates: 21 May 2020 - 28 May 2020

Hurricane | Corals, caves & critters

Our photographer Says...Mario Vitalini will teach you to work with natural light and wide angle photography, as well as show you the secrets of amazing fish portraits and using strobes. He will help you build a stunning selection of classic Red Sea images MORE

Dates: 13 Jun 2020 - 20 Jun 2020

Whirlwind | Red Sea Photography Workshop

Our photographer Says...Although I have been doing Northern Red Sea photographic liveaboard trips every summer since 1998, I love the diving so much I can never wait for the next one. And I am not the only one, my workshops tend to book up quickly because experiencing it once is never enough.
My workshops are not aimed at absolute beginners and most people have SLRs, but cameras snobs are not allowed! All I ask is that you are enthusiastic. MORE

Dates: 20 Jun 2020 - 27 Jun 2020

Cyclone | Red Sea Relaxed Photo FINish

Our photographer Says...This is a great trip for anyone interested in underwater photography (or if you are just not feeling confident about using your camera!). Martyn will cover key photography principles to get you up and running in no time, as well as more advanced techniques for experienced shooters. We pick this time as there will be no shortage of great subject matter to shoot, from impressive wrecks to huge schools of fish, especially at Shark and Yolanda reef! MORE

Dates: 12 Sep 2020 - 19 Sep 2020

Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort | Photo FINish Malapascua

Our photographer Says...Mario says... I love the Philippines. Its hugely diverse diving makes it heaven with a camera. And the warm welcome you are guaranteed just tops off one of my favourite places to run a workshop. Relaxing pace with superb subjects. Perfect combo. MORE

Dates: 29 Sep 2020 - 13 Oct 2020

Lembeh Resort | Best of Manado with Martyn

Our photographer Says...There is a multitude of weird and wonderful critters to photograph and nobody will be disappointed with the portfolio of images I will help them to build. Bankga is a place that I went to when I first started travelling around the world with my camera and the combination of macro and wide angle opportunities give this location a point of difference and a great combination with muck diving in Lembeh. There are coral reef wide angle opportunities for some great scenic shots as well as blue water for macro subjects. I cant wait to help people with their photography and have no doubt that participants will return with an improved skill set. MORE

Dates: 21 Nov 2020 - 28 Nov 2020

Whirlwind | Red Sea Relaxed Photo FINish

Our photographer Says...A very rewarding, but more relaxing and slower paced alternative to the more usual wrecks and reefs itinerary. With the same amount of dives available but at fewer locations, allowing you to see the best sites at different times of the day, this works brilliantly for photographers but is also proving to be a big hit with people that prefer to take things easier and with less rushing about. MORE

Dates: 28 May 2021 - 04 Jun 2021

Solitude One - Philippines | Tubbataha

Our photographer Says...This is one of the best places I have been to photograph classic coral reef scenery in with clear water and sunny conditions. There are loads of mighty schools, turtles galore and the place has a reputation for providing encounters with whale sharks and plenty of other big stuff. This is one a few locations in the Philippines where you can reliably dive with the big stuff and typically in 30m+ visibility, ocean water. Mantas, mobulas, reef sharks, eagle rays, tuna and dolphins all pitch up in this oasis of life in the middle of the Sulu Sea. Equally attractive are the thriving corals, especially hard coral and soft coral gardens and attractive sea fans. MORE

Dates: 08 Aug 2021 - 18 Aug 2021

Scuba Seraya Resort | Best of Bali with Martyn

Our photographer Says...Bali is an amazing and relaxed place and Scuba Seraya is a fantastic and well-run diving resort right on the beach. The house reefs - Seraya Secrets and Noisy reef - are probably the best that I have dived with excellent macro subjects to photograph, the first early morning dive on the Liberty wreck is superb wide angle and the reefs at Ahmed blew me away! This trip to Bali has been planned to visit Bali at its seasonal best. Fancy a longer trip? I highly recommend Pemuteran extension for the perfect combo of diving and photography MORE

Alex Mustard

Scuba travel has been running photography workshops with Alex Mustard since 2009. In that time hundreds of divers have travelled the globe, visiting the world’s top diving destinations with this master photographer. We work carefully to build each trip around the timing for the best possible encounters. Alex’ workshops are always popular, aimed at enthusiastic underwater photographers. They are not competitive - it’s as important to have fun as it is to improve your skills and learn new techniques.MORE

Martyn Guess

Martyn has been taking underwater photographs for nearly 20 years having first learnt some basic skills on a holiday in Grand Cayman. Whilst the images were pretty awful he was completely smitten with the UW Photography bug and with his love of diving set out to learn how to improve his fledgling knowledge.MORE

Mario Vitalini

Mario has been involved in photography since his earliest years, starting on land. His first underwater camera was a Nikonos V in the late 1980s, and he’s been diving with a camera ever since. The technology has come a long way since then! MORE

Martin Edge

Now retired, however still very much part of the Scuba Travel family - watch out for news of his book launch in 2020. Mentor, coach, facilitator, educator. Whichever words are used to describe him, there is no doubt that Martin Edge is the most experienced and gifted instructor of underwater photography there is.MORE
