Carpe Novo is a luxury liveaboard built by divers for divers. From the moment you step on board, you know you're in for an incredible trip, where your every whim is catered for. Lovingly crafted, no detail has been overlooked. Speed your way to dive sites on the huge 18m diving dhoni (boat) and then head back to Carpe Novo where the relaxation begins. Many of the staff have been with the fleet since the very beginning - your holiday is in safe hands with Carpe Novo. Over a spacious 43m and 3 decks, you will find 12 tastefully finished cabins. Take your pick of the individually named cabins. Downstairs you will find Turtle, Dolphin, Barracuda and Napoleon, each with a queen bed and single alongside. Frogfish and Octopus are twin bedded. Single divers will love the 2 dedicated single cabins, Eagle ray and Manta ray, on the main deck. Move to the upper deck where you find the 4 junior suites. Thresher shark and Hammerhead have a comfy king size bed, whilst Whaleshark and Tiger shark can be arranged as a twin or double. The views from the main deck and upper deck cabins are sublime. No matter which rooms you pick, all have smart TV/HD linked to a media centre with plenty movies on offer, AC, storage space, desk and thoughtfully finished en-suite bathrooms. Wifi operates throughout. Please remember to discuss your cabin requirements at the time of booking - a specific cabin will be allocated so you know exactly where you will be on board. As you move from the stern sitting area through towards the saloon, the sheer size of Carpe Novo hits you. The width is impressive and throughout rooms are generously proportioned. The cool, inviting indoor lounge area has a large flat screen TV and entertainment system and library. Just in front outside is a comfortable and relaxing outdoor shaded seating area - watch for dolphins! On the upper deck is the the al-fresco dining area where guests will be served delicious meals. The crew will keep your thirst quenched from the fully stocked bar and there's yet more space to relax with your book. The fly deck is one of the most popular hang out spots. The banked seating are shaded, whilst the loungers are ideal for sun lovers. Grab your sundowner and head here for spectacular views of the setting sun at the end of another fabulous day in the Maldives. Recreational nitrox mixes will be free of charge for all certified divers.

The Southern Shark Adventure is an action packed pelagic adventure in the Maldives filled with speedy drift dives, manta, sharks and even a wreck dive in some of the Maldives least visited atolls.
Southern Shark Adventure is a transition itinerary taking you from the central to the southern Maldives Atolls or visa versa. The itinerary is an action packed pelagic adventure in the Maldives filled with speedy drift dives, manta and sharks action. Our exclusive Maldivian liveaboards stop at nothing to ensure that you see manta, sharks and even a wreck as you sail into diving perfection.
December - April is the season for this itinerary as the current in the Kandus is predominantly incoming in this period. The Southern Shark Adventure itinerary will focus on diving South Male, Vaavu, Meemu, Thaa and Laamu, Huvadhoo, Fuvamulah, Addu atoll. Some trips may visit North Male as well. More details can be found on the individual trip details. Your trip will typically need a domestic flight either at the start or end of your holiday. Some trips will include domestic flights, please see individual trips for more details. Where trips do not include domestic flights, please speak to your travel consultant who will be able to book these.
There is a good variety of diving with exciting channel dives but also more relaxed diving inside the atolls on Thilas or Giris. One of the advantages of this itinerary is that there are few other boats en route. You'll visit atolls that have very few resorts and lots of uninhabited islands. Diving in South Male is great for spotting Grey Reef sharks and Eagle Rays. Get the chance to encounter majestic mantas in Meemu as well as Whalesharks and night in Thaa. Moving South to Laamu, explore dives sites like Maabaidhoo Kandu home to Grey Reef Sharks, Hammerheads Tiger Sharks, Silver Tips and Zebra Sharks. The lagoon inside Huvadhoo is one of the deepest in the Maldives and the shifting currents are ideal for shark sightings, including whalesharks, Silkies, hammerheads and grey sharks are all seen most weeks. Dive into world-class channels likes Vilingilli, Koodoo, Nilandhoo and Mareehaa ad explore the deep waters that house a plethora of marine life including dolphins, turtles, guitar fish and more. Fuvamulah is a predators playground with incredible marine encounters especially with Tiger, silky, silver tip and thresher sharks on the south plateaux. If you're lucky, you may also encounter rare sightings such as sailfish, mola mola (SunFish) and large schools of Tuna. These are the kind of sightings that will make your dive log stand out! Discover the WW2 wreck, HMS British Loyalty, piece of history in Addu Atoll. Plus visit majestic manta cleaning stations at Maa Kandu.
As there is a good amount of drift diving on the Southern Shark Adventure itinerary. Min 100 dives for advanced divers with experience of drift diving. There is typically 1 night dive on the southern itineraries.

A note from Emperor Maldives and Carpe Diem Cruises: we believe in providing as authentic an experience with nature as possible. We do not believe it is appropriate to chum/bait for, nor feed, sharks and therefore will not dive or promote the experience known as Tiger Zoo in Fuvahmulah Atoll. We dive Fuvahmulah and regularly encounter Tiger Sharks there, as well as at other spots on our itineraries, and we believe these offer a far more natural experience.

Get closer to the action in Male atolls, South Ari, Meemu, Vaavu, Thaa & Laamu on board the sublime and spacious Carpe Novo. After landing in Male you will be taken to the boat and the adventure begins. Carpe Novo offers on average 3 dives daily, including one or two night dives. All diving is from a dhoni tender, with 12lt tank and weights are included, as well as free of charge nitrox You have booked a standard cabin on a full board basis (twin/double share cabin) - cabin upgrades available. Tea, coffee and drinking water are included in your package. All trips are fully guided. Excluded are alcohol, fruit juice, soft drinks, additional kit hire and any on board souvenirs. You will have 1 domestic flight as part of your package. Excluded is excess baggage on your domestic flights. Please let us know if you would like to prebook any PADI courses on board or have any dietary requirements.
This holiday excludes international flights to Male airport transfers. We are able to add flights with a wide range of airlines, including regional departures. Please ask your consultant for competitive quote for any flight option. Do not book any flights until your boat space is confirmed by Scuba Travel. Transfers operate at fixed times.
