Both Sinai Divers and Werner Lau are well known names in Egypt. And the dive centre at Oasis Resort is a joint venture between these 2 long stand dive operators. The experienced team prides itself on a high standard of service, professionalism and great diving is guaranteed.

The house reef is one of the major attractions here. Enjoy a relaxing and easy dive on this vibrant reef. Well-known dive spots such as Elphinstone, Dolphin House and Abbu Dabbab, as all the local reefs and bays, are all accessible by boat or by land transfer. Fancy a night dive with a difference? Blue light dives are available in resort.

PADI, SSI and CMAS courses are all taught. The first open water dives will take place in the 2m deep training pool. The open water dives will take place on the house reef or in one of the protected bays nearby. Air and nitrox fills are included as standard in your package. The dive centre has full kit hire to rent on site. The diving boats and land vehicles are all equipped with oxygen and a first-aid-kit, as well as radio and telephone.

The Oasis

Skill level: Novice | Ave Depth: 12 | Max Depth: 12

Directly in front of the diving centre there is a wonderful house reef (border reef). Here a super conditions for beach dives, night dives and open water dives during courses. Dives are made from the jetty which is built out over the edge of the reef. The sea is about 12 m deep here. The reef slopes slowly down before dropping off sharply into the blue! The reef can be dived to the north or to the south. Along with some very pretty hard and soft corals there are also large numbers of typical Red Sea fish. A real highlight are the large pelagic fish travelling along the aquatic road in north/south direction. Along with manta rays, turtles and dolphins, more and more dugongs have been sighted.

Marsa Shagra

Skill level: Novice | Ave Depth: 20 | Max Depth: 30

The bay of Marsa Shagra, located to the south, is reached within only 5 minutes with the minibus. This is the ideal site to dive especially when surface conditions are too rough elsewhere. Marsa Shagra is a simple bay consisting of a sandy bottom which slopes between the north and south parts of the reef to a depth of 30m. Numerous Puffer fish and Crocodile fish can be seen in certain areas, while occasionally baby Black tip reef sharks are sighted over the northern reef plate. The possibility also exits for guests to do drift diving at Marsa Shagra. Divers are taken by zodiac to the outer reef, and drift back into the bay in a one way direction. Before ascending, it is worthwhile spending a short time scanning over the sandy bottom, where various types of flounders and other bottom dwellers can be seen. This site is also suitable for snorkelling.

Nemo City (Marsa Egla)

Skill level: Novice | Ave Depth: 15 | Max Depth: 30

also known as Nemo City After a 20 minute journey by minibus in a southerly direction, we arrive at Marsa Egla. This dive site is suitable for drift diving. The point of entry is behind a small hill, with a connecting short cut over the reef plate. This one way dive takes one in a southerly direction into the bay, past wonderful coral and a large number of Anenome fish. This site is also known as Nemo City.

Dolphinhouse (Shaab Samadai)

Skill level: Guided | Ave Depth: 15 | Max Depth: 30

Large horseshoe-shaped reef surrounded by an exceptionally well-preserved hard and soft coral garden. Shaab Samadai is the mating and breeding site for spinner dolphins and one of the most protected national parks of the Red Sea. To protect the animals, the interior of the reef has been divided into 3 zones. Zone A is only for the dolphins, Zone B is the snorkeling zone, Zone C is for divers. On the south-west side of the reef there is a chain of numerous outlying reefs that extend to below the surface and are therefore the starting point for a dive in the beautiful hard and soft coral garden. One of these reef blocks is streaked by a cave system which is reserved for experienced divers. Spinner dolphins, turtles, anemone fish, moray eels, seaweed ghost tatterfish and much more can be seen. Travel time: 80mins by boat

Elphinstone

Skill level: Advanced | Ave Depth: 15 | Max Depth: 30+

Elphinstone is a world famous offshore reef. Sheer walls and sometimes fast currents make this one for advanced divers only but it will be one you remember. Dive the east wall in the morning and the west in the afternoon to make the most of the sun, and light up the abundant soft corals. Anthias smother the walls and large gorgonian fans and black corals hide critters such as longnose hawkfish. Keep an eye out in the blue for schools of snapper, large barracuda and enormous Napoleon wrasse. The north and south plateaus can be a place for very special encounters - manta rays, grey reef and hammerhead sharks have all been seen here and cruising the shallows at the right time of year can be curious silky and oceanic whitetip sharks. This a special trip at an extra cost that can be arranged locally
