Fewer boats, clear water
March is the quietest time on the classic northern sites. The water is at its coolest, typically around 21–23°C, so most divers wear a 5mm or 7mm wetsuit with a hood or vest. Topside it is sunny and comfortably warm.
March, April & May 2027 • Weekly March departures • Solo shares available
Beat the crowds and the summer heat. Ghazala Explorer and Ghazala Adventure sail every week from March to May, with flights from Gatwick, free nitrox and Scuba Travel support included. Our March departures are confirmed to run.
Quieter sites, clear water
Spring is one of the most underrated times to dive the Egyptian Red Sea. The sites are quieter than in summer, visibility is often excellent and the water warms up week by week from March into May. It is also just a five-hour flight from the UK.
March is the quietest time on the classic northern sites. The water is at its coolest, typically around 21–23°C, so most divers wear a 5mm or 7mm wetsuit with a hood or vest. Topside it is sunny and comfortably warm.
By April the water is usually a couple of degrees warmer, the days are longer and the full range of routes is running, from the Thistlegorm and Ras Mohammed to the offshore marine parks.
May brings warmer water and calmer seas without the peak-season crowds. It is a great month for the Brothers, Daedalus and the southern reefs, as well as the wrecks of the north.
Flights from Gatwick are included, so you can be on board and diving without a long-haul journey. It is a perfect warm-water break after the UK winter.
Our March departures from 1 to 22 March are confirmed to run, with whole cabins, male shares and female shares available. April and May dates are shown below too.
