Meeru Island Resort and Spa | Maldives Resort

Meeru has been welcoming guests for over 40 years. Much of this stunning Maldives Island remains untouched with its fringing coconut palm trees and abundant vegetation. The resort makes part of the very well known Maldivian concept of "One Island - One Resort" and is located in North Male Atoll, one of the big name atolls for divers too. This is a beach filled holiday with a dash of Maldivian culture, blending into every element of your holiday.

In just under an hour by speedboat, you will reach this award winning resort. There are range of rooms and villas to pick from. The beach villas and jacuzzi beach villas are always popular, with the partially open air bathrooms and rain showers. But why not upgrade to a jacuzzi water villa for the classic Maldivian experience and over water living. The garden rooms are inland, offering great value for those that don't plan to be in the rooms. Families are welcome too, and we suggest the two bedroom villas for a spacious living space as well as sleeping up to 4 adults.

Our standard package is based on a full board basis, but the all inclusive upgrade is well worth considering for your holiday. There are a host of different buffet and a la carte restaurants, as well as bars and dining experiences. You can even book dinner under the starts or in villa dining for a special occasion (local charges apply). The resorts prides itself on the island grown fruit and vegetables, picked fresh from their garden. Feast in one of the 2 buffet restaurants, also hosting regular themed nights and a Sunday brunch. Asian Wok, Hot rock and the Meeru cafe compliment the dining experience.

The island itself s 1200 meters long by 350 meters wide and about 32 hectares (80 acres). Wander between coconut palm trees, along stretches of white sandy beach, surrounded by sparkling clear, warm water in a turquoise lagoon. The colourful coral reefs teeming with abundant marine life. It boasts awesome snorkelling and diving with the on site team, Euro Divers. Find your inner calm at the spa. Or join in on one of the seasonal events. The team will help make your holiday magical.

Weather and Climate

Whilst there are 2 monsoon seasons (Nov-Apr & May-Oct), the diving remains excellent year round. Diving operators will changes their dive sites in each season to find the best hot spots for the big fish! Traditionally, our summer months tend to be windier with a higher chance of rain, whilst the winter months are flatter. However, the seasons are much less predictable in reality and its a fabulous place to dive whatever time of year!

Stopovers

As most flights are not direct, it is simple to add a stop over en route - simply ask your travel consultant for a quote. Sri Lanka is our most popular, up coming destination - with beautiful beaches, it's a great alternative to staying in the Maldives resorts. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, why not head into the jungle for look for elephants and leopards. Or if you are a culture vulture, we highly recommend a Kandy city tour. The choice is yours! As we are able to book most major airlines to the Maldives, you can also add a stop to break up your flight. Popular locations include Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi.

They will be holding a board with either your destination or your name on it. If you have any issues at all locating your rep, please turn left from arrivals and go to the information desk at Male airport. Transfers

If your holiday begins in Male you will be met and taken to your boat. The transfer takes around 20mins. Many of our Maldives holidays will include either a domestic flight or seaplane transfer. It takes approx 45mins -1 hour to clear immigration and collect your baggage at Male airport. We endeavour to keep the transit between flights as short as possible and your transfer will normally take place within 3 hours of your international arrival, but please be aware, you may have to wait at the airport between flights.
