Why Dive Truk Lagoon?

Be sure to dive all the hot wrecks that this remote location has to offer from the decks of a Truk liveaboard. Don't waste time travelling each day to your wreck. Wake up on site! Our liveaboard operators have the all important experience and wreck knowledge to ensure you get the most out of your diving, with dives to cater for technical and recreational divers.

In 1944 the Japaneese fleet lost 60 ships and 260 aeroplanes over two days in Truk Lagoon. As a result Truk Lagoon has become is the holy grail of wreck diving and the definitive scuba diving destination if you are looking for the ultimate wreck diving holiday.

" Truk is a long flight from anywhere on the planet, but it is worth it. Staying on the Odyssey enables you to maximise your diving time whilst there in comfort and at your own pace. Michael"

Travel Information

Location: Truk, or Chuuk, is a remote island nation, and one of the Federated States of Micronesia. Truk state consists of seven major island groups lying within the Eastern Caroline Islands, about 617 miles (1028 km) southeast of Guam and 3,262 miles (5,436 km) southwest of Hawaii. The total land mass, including the outer islands, is approximately 77 square miles (128 km).

Weather: The dry season in Truk runs from December to April, with the rainy season running over our summer months. Annual rainfall is around 115 inches. It is warm more or less all year round, so pack light summer clothing, especially for time on land. The average air temp is between 25-28C. The water temperature ranges from 27-28C. Visibility ranges from 10m to 30m depending on where you are in the lagoon. There is little current.

Flights: There are no direct flights to Truk. The best route is via Manila (you may need to overnight here) and then onto Truk via Guam. You will fly with United Airlines between Manila and Truk. You must have a valid ESTA before to transit through the US protectorate of Guam. We are able to book most major airlines as far as Manila. If you have a specific airline you prefer to fly with, simply let us know in your booking request. A supplement may apply for regional departures. Times and any applicable supplements will be confirmed by your travel consultant before you finalise your holiday. If you wish to make your own flight arrangements to Weno, Truk, let us know and we can remove the cost of the international flights from your quote. We are unfortunately not able to redeem airmiles on your behalf. Please do not confirm any flight arrangements yourself before your holiday is confirmed by us.
