The main Maldives dive season
Why dive the Maldives between November and May?
This is the Maldives’ dry season. Expect sunny days, calmer seas and warm water, typically 27–30°C, so a 3mm wetsuit is plenty. Liveaboards follow the best conditions around the atolls, which is why a boat is the best way to dive the Maldives.
Sharks in the current
Channel dives on an incoming tide bring grey reef sharks, eagle rays and big schools of fish. Guides plan each dive around the currents.
Dive from a dhoni
All diving is from a separate dive dhoni, so the main boat stays calm and spacious. Your kit stays set up on the dhoni all week.
Routes for every level
The classic central atolls suit most certified divers. Deep South and shark-focused routes are there for experienced divers who want more.
