Ghazala Explorer is one of the Red Sea's standout liveaboards, built in 2021 and extensively refitted in early 2026 to further elevate both safety standards and diver comfort. Thoughtful upgrades include the relocation of cabins away from the engine room for a quieter stay, a full-length emergency exit door on the lower deck corridor, and comprehensive inspections with steelwork and electrics upgraded where needed. Air conditioning has been enhanced throughout, a dedicated camera room has been added, and the double cabin has been reconfigured to offer flexible twin or double arrangements. With a highly experienced and attentive crew, she delivers a premium diving experience from start to finish. Departing mainly from Hurghada, itineraries cover both the Northern and Southern Red Sea. On the lower deck, there are five twin cabins. The upper deck offers four twin cabins and two versatile suites that can be configured as either twins or doubles. Plus a top deck Double cabin which can be Twin or Double. All cabins are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, and come equipped with towels, dressing gowns, and a refillable water bottle for use throughout your stay. Specific cabin requests should be made at the time of booking. Spacious Design: One of the first things you'll notice on board is the liveaboards impressive width. This generous space is particularly appreciated on the dive deck and platform, allowing plenty of room for gearing up and moving comfortably between dives. Interior and Amenities: The interior is bright, modern, and welcoming, with a spacious saloon and dining area providing a relaxing social hub. The upper deck features a bar area with music, while the sun deck offers ample seating for outdoor dining and relaxation. Tea and coffee facilities are available on both the upper and sun decks, along with sun loungers and beanbags for unwinding between dives. Your week starts in Hurghada on Ghazala and the check dive. Then you are on to the Brothers. Divers have long headed to these two tiny islands for the ultimate shark sightings and drift dives along the steep walls. The deep water draws hammerheads, silkies, grey reef, white tips and even oceanic whitetips throughout the year as they come in to hunt the endless swarms of tuna, barracuda, rainbow runners and snapper. The walls themselves are outstanding with some of the biggest sea fans you will ever find at Little Brother. Turtles, camouflage fish and even octopus... look closely and you can find everything here! After the adrenaline packed days at the Brothers the pace does not slack. Ras Mohammed with her almighty wall dives awaits. You never quite know what you will find here! The drop off is home to bat fish and snapper but head round the back of Yolanda to discover napoleons and huge morays. Shark Observatory and Ras Gozlani wrap up an exceptional day's diving.
Then we are off the the almighty Thistlegorm arguably one of the most famous and best wrecks in the world, the SS Thistlegorm was sunk in World War II with a full load of trucks, ammunition and supplies. She's a living museum of the war and should be dived at least twice to get a real taste of the wreck and all her cargo.
Also on this itinerary is Abu Nu which has Four wrecks situated close together making this an excellent location for wreck divers and underwater photographers, with all being suitable for recreational divers. Giannis D, Carnatic, Chrisoula K and Kimon M are covered in soft and hard corals and there are often bottlenose dolphins in the area.
North and Brothers itinerary is best suited to more advanced divers. The Brothers Islands are remote and can experience strong currents. Whilst there are no minimum number of divers anymore required to visit the Brothers, divers should be comfortable with drift and boat diving. The sheer abundance and variety of marine life makes this the ideal voyage for photographers as well as fish enthusiasts.
