Haliotis is one of the premier dive centres in the Azores and its Faial location is perfectly placed for adventure. The beautiful island is the backdrop for diving discovery. Blue water, great vis are just the start of what draws divers to this tiny island. There are wrecks, cloud of schooling fish, big groupers and rays. But the star of the show is the blue sharks!

The Divers House is a great option for groups or anyone looking for a value option, that is a bit more relaxed than a hotel. There are 5 rooms, each with en suite but no TV or air con. There are twin and double bed options. The rooms are simple but airy in decor, and selected rooms enjoy a terrace. There is a large communal living room - perfect for relaxing at the end of the day or before heading out to enjoy the delights of Faial island.

The Divers House is actually inside the Hotel Faial resort and your package will include breakfast in the hotel. You are a stone's throw away from the dive centre itself! You are welcome to use the hotel facilities (spa, pool etc) for a small surcharge locally. You can do as much or as little as you like here. Relax or get out and about to see the astonishing sights of Faial. Make sure to go whale watching on your off gas day for an experience you will never forget.

Diving at Haliotis Divers House

Diving around Faial will excite all experience levels. The sites are uncrowded and Haliotis have the largest, most comfy boats to dive from. There are undulating reef reefs, lava tunnels, walls and even a wreck. The Pontao 16 is a firm fave for many divers, with vast schools of trigger fish. But the blue sharks are the undeniable must do dive. We recommend a special trip to Banco do Condor where you can gently drift with these elegant sharks in the shallows.

Haliotis dive centre are one of the region's premier dive centres, with all the experience you need to make your diving trip to the Azores a success. The dive centre itself is situated inside the Hotel Faial resort and right next to the Haliotis Divers' house. They pride themselves on their facilities, including changing rooms, a classroom, kit hire and shop.

How booking works

  1. 1Send an enquiry or call us Takes a minute. No payment is taken at this stage.
  2. 2We confirm and hold your space Many trips are confirmed the same day; some take 24–48 hours. We'll confirm the price, cabin and flights with you.
  3. 3Pay a deposit to secure it Typically 30% of the holiday cost. You then receive your confirmation and ATOL certificate. The balance is usually due 90 days before travel.

Your holiday details

Discover the varied diving in Faial, plus a chance to come face to face with Blue Sharks! On arrival in Horta you will be met and taken to the the Haliotis Diver House.. You have 8 nights at the in a standard room on a B&B basis (2 people sharing). You will be advised locally of your pick up time to begin your diving activities. You have prebooked 10 boat dives with 12lt tank, air fills and weight. All additional kit hire, nitrox, night dives and special trips (Princess Alica/Banco do Condor/Banco dos Acores)) are arranged and paid for locally. At the end of your stay you will be taken back to the airport for your flight back to the UK. Flights are typically visa Lisbon to Horta with TAP and Air Azores from Heathrow . Depending on your travel dates, this route may require an overnight in Lisbon. The final trip cost is subject to flight availability and seasonal prices at the time of booking.
