Sorido Bay Resort is situated next to one of the most amazing dive sites in Raja Ampat, Cape Kri. This is one of Indonesia's most remote diving resorts where mind blowing Pelagic encounters accompany the incredible reef diving and splendid Macro life. This house reef is where Dr. G. Allen recorded 374 different species of fish during ONE dive making this the richest dive site known to science, but also the richest house reef anywhere! Built and owned by the pioneering Max Ammer, Sorido Bay Resort is a low-impact resort, designed to blend in with the surroundings. Natural local materials, local craftsmen and traditional design create eco-friendly accommodation striking a balance between traditional and modern. There is no where on earth quite like Raja Ampat - discover it from the lap of island luxury.

There are 2 room grades at Sorido Bay - the Sentani bungalows and Kaimana Villa. The Kaimana Villas are larger with a living room area. Each room is decorated and furnished in Papuan style using local artefacts and is equipped with air-conditioning, hot showers, television and refrigerator. These spacious Bungalows are built on the seashore with beach access and provide a simply stunning view over this gorgeous bay. Soak up the view from your private sun deck. There is even a free laundry service! Built by divers for divers, Sorido Bay Resort is very photographer friendly. In each bungalow there is a 60 x 330 cm bench for camera work with good light, built-in sink, and 110V and 220V electricity outlets. The ever-helpful staff transport cameras to and from the jetty.

Sorido Bay Resort was built maintaining most of the original trees and bushes and because of this, the buildings are integrated into nature and partly hidden by lush vegetation. The whole area is literally carpeted with ground orchids and there are lots of birds (some even nesting!) within the resort grounds. The main building at Sorido Bay Resort houses the lobby, office, restaurant, kitchen, storage rooms, library/computer-internet room/souvenir shop, as well as a mini museum of Max's WWII artefacts. Sorido Bay Resort has a spacious dining area, bar and relaxation area with splendid view over the bay where Wi-Fi is available to the guests.

Transfers between Sorido Bay and Sorong run on fixed days only.
Your stay will always start on a Thursday or Sunday
Your stay will always finish a Wednesday or Sunday
7, 10, 14, 17 and 21 night durations are possible

In an ever shrinking world, scuba divers are always on the look out for that special somewhere for a resort diving holiday and it doesn't get much better than Raja Ampat in Indonesia. Raja Ampat boasts not only the impressive bio diversity so characteristic of Indonesian diving, but is also remote enough to truly feel like you have escaped to another world.

Papua Diving have been pioneering scuba diving in Raja Ampat longer than anyone else and with over a decade of experience, no one knows the waters quite like this team. The house reef is a major attraction. This is the richest house reef of the world, holding the world record count by Dr. G. Allen of 374 different species. Having personally discovered many of the dive sites you will visit, these dive professionals live and breathe the underwater world. The majority of diving on offer is reef diving (often in combination with current/drift). But on request there is can muck diving, wall, wreck (P47 WWII airplane which is a deep dive), cavern (not always possible and depends on crocodile sightings), fluo, black water (Sorido Bay resort only).

The dive boats run with a maximum of 6 divers and minimum 2 guides (average diver to guide ratio underwater: 3/1). Divers are typically allocated to boats based on certification level & experience. From Sunday to Friday, every day there are 2 dives in the morning + 1 dive in the afternoon + optional dusk or night dive. On Friday evening there is no night diving and Saturday day-time no guided boat diving is offered. Guests that want to dive on Saturday can dive from the resort jetty on the house reef unguided (buddy team mandatory).

The normal daily boat departures dive sites in a range of 15 Km from the island, covering approximately 30 different locations. The travel time by boat is between 1 & 20 min. The special trips are half & full day boat excursions (additional fuel surcharge to pay locally) we operate in a range of approximately 60 Km around our island for a total of +100 different dive sites.
