Saudi Explorer (registered in Egypt as Typhoon) is a stylish modern liveaboard operating in the up and coming destination - Saudi Arabia. Hammerheads, reef sharks, rays and turtles are all commonly seen on these wall and blue dives.

None of the cabins on the Saudi Explorer are below deck affording guests a sea view from every room. The main deck comprises of 5 en-suite twin cabins and a double suite. The suite situated at the very front of the main deck offers clients spectacular views across the sea and coast. The upper deck has 4 cabins with double beds convertible into twin beds. All cabins are air conditioned.

Saudi Explorer has the ability to sail in all sea conditions due it its steel hull, which also gives it excellent stability. Throughout the interior the tones are neutral and the style modern with an 'L' shaped hotel style restaurant on the lower deck equipped with a sound system and large HD screen.

The outdoor common areas and the diving area have been designed to meet the expectations of the most demanding divers. The Fly bridge has a bar area with photo-video equipment and charging bench. The Sun deck is equipped with sunbathing area, deck chairs and jacuzzi.

Please be aware: Saudi Explorer is under management of an Italian dive operator, Mar Rosso. This destination is only suited to experienced divers, with experience of wall and blue diving. The cruise directors on board will give a full briefing and dive plan on each site, but divers may be expected to dive unguided in buddy pairs.

Main deck twin cabin

Saudi Explorer has five main deck twin cabins with sea views. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom, individual controlled A/C and bedside controlled music and lighting, all cabins are designed for luxury and comfort.

Upper deck double/twin cabins

Saudi Explorer has 4 upper deck cabin, which can be twin or doubles and far reaching sea views. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom, individual controlled A/C and bedside controlled music and lighting.

Main deck Suite

Saudi Explorer has one large main deck suite with commanding sea views. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom, individual controlled A/C and bedside controlled music and lighting, all cabins are designed for luxury and comfort.

Dining area

The restaurant and saloon area is situated on the lower deck, With a Simple modern decor; the restaurant provides a warm welcoming ambience to enjoy the dining experience.

Location

Saudi Arabia is around 6 hours flying time from the UK when flying direct from London to Jedda. All the diving will take place in the Red sea on the Saudi Arabian east coast, opposite Egypt/Sudan and Eritrea.

Weather and Climate

Saudi Arabia is very warm. The hottest time of the year is July to August with air temperatures around 40°C. Even in the n 'winter' the average rarely falls below 20°C. Water temperature varies from 20°C in February to 29°C in September. Please choose your exposure suit accordingly, depending on your personal preferences.

Visa requirements

Compulsory EUR 150 your entry visa is not included in the trip. Around the time of the Hajj, the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia have previously imposed restrictions on Muslim visitors flying to Jeddah, Madinah and Taif for reasons other than the Hajj pilgrimage. During this time, Muslim visitors may only be allowed to board flights to Jeddah, Madinah and Taif if they have a valid Hajj visa.

Insurance

Scuba Travel requires all of our customers to have diving insurance. Please make sure that you have appropriate cover for your diving activities. We also strongly recommend you have travel insurance. It's worth taking out travel insurance once you have paid your deposit to ensure you are covered for unforeseen events and cancellation.

Immunisations

Your covid proof of vaccination must match your passport name and flight ticket name. Please speak to your local GP or check out the latest NHS advice on updating your NHS details or for other travel immunisations: click here to go to the NHS

Preparing to fly

Seating

You will be able to manage your booking online once you have been ticketed (after you have paid your holiday balance). Most airlines will now enable you to select your seating at this point. There may be a small charge for prebookable seating before online check in opens. Please look at the airlines website for more information about charges.

What happens when I arrive?

On arrival in Saudi Arabia, you must provide your contact details and travel information. You may be refused entry to Saudi Arabia if your passport contains evidence of previous travel to Israel or indicates Israel as your birthplace.

Transfers

All transfers to and from Jedda to the marina and to and from the hoitel are included.

Departures

At the end of your holiday, your return transfer details will be advised locally. There is currently no departure tax leaving Saudi Arabia.

Deposits and Balances

Over 90 days prior to departure a 30% deposit is required, with full balance due 90 days before departure.

Ways to pay

We accept mastercard and visa debit or credit cards. If you would like a pay by link to complete check out via email please let us know and it can be set up for you. We do not take AMEX. All non sterling card payments and UK business debit cards will be subject to the 3% surcharge. Alternatively, you are welcome to pay via bank transfer. Overseas bank transfers must add £8 to the sterling total to cover international handling fees. We are not able to accept PayPal transactions or personal cheques.

Group Payments

If you have booked as part of a group, you can still call and pay directly without needing to go via your group leader. Please have your trip reference number to hand to help us locate your holiday as quickly as possible. You will receive a transaction receipt - your group leader will forward your ATOL certificate and booking confirmation
